Disagree with this. I was all for Nagelsmann when he was first linked whilst also banging the Slot drum. How do you know peoples reasoning for voting Slot over Nagelsmann? I have no idea either but assume it possibly has something to do with the fact that Slot is extremely open to joining us and excited by the prospect of managing us whereas it seems Nagelsmann isn't as enthusiastic. I don't know about most of us, but I for one want a manager who is desperate to manage us. I said a month or so back that Slot was very interested in joining us despite reports at the time saying he wouldn't leave Holland. I genuinely believe he would be a brilliant appointment, he's extremely likeable, plays exactly the type of football we've all been crying out for and he absolutely improves players. He just ticks so many boxes for us. Not sure re smokescreen info etc, but from my side Slot is almost nailed on for it.
Yep, once it became obvious quite early on that JN appeared to have that ‘doing us a favour’ vibe Slot was the one I wanted. Everything about him smacks as a breath of fresh air, his football and personality. This might just be the start of something for us

My issue is that I think N may be callow and brittle.

Slot has pretty much always been my number one choice. I'd have been more than happy with others but I've always thought Slot was the best option for so many reasons.

He is clearly a very talented coach. He's able to improve players and motivate fallen stars. He is a front foot manager who will tactically adjust his team early when necessary. He's able to work to a budget and it's on the training ground where he excels. Most of all though he's extremely likable, and imo the press, the fans, and the players will all be very quickly on board.

I genuinely believe he is Poch 2.0, and an improved version at that. His English and communication skills are better than the majority of English managers to be honest. He's very clever and he REALLY, REALLY wants the job.

My only concern is a lack of experience in the Prem. That is literally my only doubt, but I'll maintain my stance on this. I'll take ability and skillset over experience every day of the week because we are talking about a rebuild and a team and manager growing together. He's very intelligent and he'll learn quickly.

I'll actually be very disappointed if we don't appoint him now when it's extremely doable.

i suppose the sign of a good coach is getting players to buy into what you want to do. Back in the day Wenger succeeded in doing so whereas Gross didn’t.

I don’t think Slot will have any problems in that regard.
It’s funny as Parlour and a few others have said that Wenger didn’t convince them early on, bit the difference was Adams was looking for a change in his life and took on board Wenger’s lessons and he ruled the dressing room so the others listened too.

Love this and agree with everything you've said. As you say, I would also be extremely disappointed if it doesn't happen when it's very doable. He does scream Poch 2.0 (but a much improved version). Let's hope we can get it over the line now 🤞🏼

Feyenoord have two more games: away tomorrow and at home on the 28th. So I imagine it’ll be kept stum until the end of the month at least.

I'd actually be quite excited with Slot but I don't get why a lot of us perceive JN wanting clarity on our vision / project and having requests on how he thinks it can be most successful is him thinking he's too good for us or he'd be doing us a favor.

Hell I hope Slot is demanding of Levy everything he thinks he needs to be a success here.

I think the fact that things collapsed with Chelsea and us pretty quickly shows that he’s either being extremely inflexible in his demands or giving off a vibe that he should be a shoe-in for each job.

Yes can't see them announincg before but what I should say is we need to have somebody in situ as soon as possible once the season ends.

I think players have two-three week break then back for pre-season. We need to give the manager two weeks to plan and then be ready for the players on day 1. Anything less than that is unfair to the manager and players and is inexcusable given we have had months to sort this.

Similarly if he comes I suspect winning over Kane will be one of his first missions.

My main concern with Slot is his ability to setup a team against a low block, as highlighted by Nathan A Clark . His team struggled against Roma's low block but Mourinho 's low block probably the best out there. Potter and De Zerbi's teams look great beating the press but struggle against a low block, not sure if its tactics or lack of the right players. If its a player problem we are gonna need to invest in more creative midfielders as we will face a low block against the majority of the teams we playnext season. That's why I would go for Nagelsmann ahead of Slot.
