Officially I don’t think there is one now and then it’s 6m (not sure if pounds or Euros) next season.
I believe the 6M was pushed out there as the release if he signed the extension they were offering him, but there's been so much stuff out there who knows.

It's not the timing. It's the "gap of five million euros" between the clubs which is the problem - if, as I have said, true.
Ok. You know the gap but you don’t know what they asked for. But please do assume it’s Spurs in the worst possible light.

What is the right amount? If they said €20m - would you say just pay it?

We genuinely can’t afford to chuck a load of money on the manager bit if we want to spend in the summer. There is no magic sponsor to bail us out here.

I think this anxiety people are creating is needless. The season hasn't finished. He's still doing a job at another club, he's going to have a holiday. It seems to be that is getting closer is what is causing more anxiety, if there was no info then I don't think people would be worrying so much.

What's even the danger here anyway? He's supposedly our first choice, he wants to join Spurs. If you didn't have the information about there being a 5/6 million release clause, you'd not be worried about it. Media is gonna add a few twist and turns to it because they know people are attracted to news that hints at uncertainty.
This. The deal won't drag out - it will get done soon. But it will be perceived as dragging out because we all want it done instantly and forensically follow every step via a thousand aggregators.

Yeah I think you're right, I think it's being too close to the painting and when you stand back, you'll see it's alright.

It’s called negotiation. Journos will make a big deal out of the 5 million gap but in reality it’s nothing.

Lots have been made of a gap valuation of players we’ve ended up signing in the past. If we really want him we’ll get him. Stop being so fatalistic.
Even Levy should be cut a bit of slack for negotiating, can’t just pay whatever they want, season hasn’t finished yet and I’m sure incoming players wil have been discussed.

Here here, bring back the teletext days!

I didn’t know anything about anything and then boom the £7mil signing of Robbie Keane pops up! I was doing cartwheels around the house!

People need to good old fashioned patience here.

It was so much better. Being a football fan nowadays is so much shitter than back then in so many ways.

Saw this video on one of the replies:

What I love about it after reading the article shared in here earlier on Slot's build up you can see a few of the points clearly:

• Kokcu comes deep to split the two CBs and offers the third outlet pulling Roma's LW and ST out of position.

• Kokcu picks the ball up again after breaking the first line and plays to the RW area - you may think this is the RB, but actually Geertruida was playing RB that match and is tucked in (inverted) - and receives the ball

• Geertruida plays a ball into space where the other fullback is has loads of space but is only as wide as the center circle. He plays the ball out wide left, where it's a clear 1 v 1 with the Roma defender.

Really cool stuff from that clip.

These clips are really exciting, until you remember:

I would argue that getting the right manager is more important than any player we may want, right now. So - for example - spending £20m+ on 'the right' manager is worth it. £20m might get you an average player that will make next to no difference to the team.

Why does it need to go multiple days to say, I want to leave, I am going to tell Tottenham to negotiate with you.
Aren’t they actually negotiating now though, I don’t think his agent travels to Holland just to say he’s leaving and then walks out 30 seconds later.

The same article says they want compensation similar to nagelsmann, 25 million seems like something you want to negotiate before the club that wants you balks at that price.
