I don’t understand how he just doesn’t get it. Fan opinion has got to be an all time low and from what we’ve heard here he thinks it’ll just blow over by the end of the summer.

An underwhelming appointment, coupled with Poch going to Chelsea, after this shit show off a season. If whoever comes in doesn’t get off to a barnstorming start, the fan reaction he’ll get will make this season’s look like child’s play. The same goes for the performances too - the team is absolutely rotten right now and I’m saying that as someone who is normally a hopeless optimist.

New manager gets off to a poor start then he will be sacked and we are back here again

Groundhog day

Rinse and repeat, nothing will change until levy is gone

I learnt recently that the Ancient Greeks had 9 different types of love and one of them was called Mania. It's where you get obsessed and for the wrong reasons, that you become unstable, possessive, unreasonable and you provide instability because you think you love something but you don't know what it truly is and so you're all over the place and jumping from one idea to the next.

I genuinely am starting to think we're in that territory of leadership now.

Edit: Apparently the brand new members are not a fan of this comment  Very interesting.

It will be in my opinion underwhelming from what I’m hearing. Just can’t see our chairman letting go.
This second part makes me think it’s Big Ange.

If Daniel Levy can’t let go and is sticking to his old ways, then that could suggest he’s going back to his old stomping ground and hiring from CAA Base, who currently represents Postecoglou.

Not that I’d find him underwhelming in the slightest, but I understand most would.

more from prof

I know who #2 is.
Don't know who #3 is but would be mildly surprised if it's Amorim.
No idea about the last one other than my guess would be JN or GP. Not sure who else has rejected us in the past.

Until as a fanbase we come together and make his life seriously difficult then this will keep going on.

He's right, we will get over it, no matter what he does. I remember being so so annoyed at the Nuno appointment, it was a disgusting decision and yet most will just go along and back these things because it's the done thing.

I've been thinking about it and the level of audacity to totally ignore your best manager (under ENIC) who is still in his prime and let him go to a despised rival for you to them appoint someone from a joke of a league is another level but he will get away with it just like he always does. Even yesterday people were furiously defending them buying players without any sort of football structure at all but hey ho we all want a shiny new toy

Of course he wont let go. Been in the job 22 years, is there another club since 2001 that hasnt changed their owners or chairperson? From the outside it just sounds and looks like he is reluctant to see any other way but his, the arrogance of power.

Give it up Daniel, yours is a dynasty of footballing failure.

I get the need for some confirmation over our new manager however we were never going to announce anything until the season ended.

I would like to see us getting someone in within the next fortnight to allow sufficient time to prep for pre-season and evaluate the upcoming transfer window.

For me, JN would be the ideal pick, but likely won’t happen.

In keeping with a project manager, I think Potter fits the bill. RDZ getting a lot of credit for the Brighton side however the foundations were already in place due to the work of Potter. Chelsea history aside, he is definitely going to be a success somewhere and I really think he would work well within our structure and have a valuable input.

The other rumoured options all have their pros and cons.
Rodgers - meh

Ange - Seems like a really likeable guy and doing some great things with Celtic, but PL is a massive step up and would be a pretty big gamble.

Amorim - quite similar with JN that he is young and could bring a fresh perspective to the PL. Our squad is pretty well suited to his style of formation but again, the step up to PL is a risk.

Marco Silva - I’ve enjoyed watching Fulham this season and he’s done a great job this season. May not be the big name we desire but I reckon he could do a decent job.

I could see a few names appear that haven’t been mentioned in recent months coming out now that most leagues have finished up.

Fonseca has done a great job at Lille this season. Not sure how the relationship is now after the debacle two summers ago but I would definitely be open for him to take over.

Does the club not ask the question of how; a football team with the best facilities, best stadium, one of the best strikers, in the best league in the world, located in one of the most popular cities in the world doesn't have managers falling to their knee's at the prospect of managing us?

Can they not see the consistent problem?
To be fair, our last appointment was probably the top available manger at the time.

But regardless of Levy this is the hardest job in football. You have less resources (most importantly wages... although this may be changing) than your main competitors, who are the elite. In essence you have to overperform to succeed.

There is pressure to immediately match our previous high standards all whilst our key players may be sundowning or leaving or others are out of form with no legacy of success or good form to guide you.

It's not just levy being demanding. Fans are just as impatient . To be manager here you'll need to hit that sweet spot of satisfying all the various requirements.

If you think about the phases redknapp and pochettino had to move through to produce their top sides, it feels like a tough task, one that you can imagine most managers failing at.

Looks like it's time to make peace with a Nuno-esque, Yes man appointment.
Clearly Levy will never let go of footballing control and this will be the status quo for the foreseeable :(

At a time when Rangnick was practically offering himself and Nagelsmann on a silver plate, this is incredibly frustrating, disheartening.

Are they very different reasons? And who knows how damaged Potter is from his Chelsea experience same for Rodgers. Last thing we need is a manager coming in who has his own baggage we have enough of that of our own.

Brendan would have something to prove and so would potter, i would worry more about Potter confidence but i would prefer potter!

TBH they are 2 candidates a month ago we as fan would not have considered and we properly consider spurs better than them.

how we have fallen.

whoever comes in is is set up to fail sadly and we need to address that before anything.
