The manager (whoever he ends up being) and Levy need to be on the same page .
Mourinho and Conte wanted expensive big name players and we all know Levy doesn’t read that page in the book. He’s in the bargain/sales catalogue.
I believe the first ‘expensive‘ player purchased for Poch was Ndombele and we all know how that worked out.
So maybe a manager who can make cheap players into expensive is the one we want.🤷🏼‍♀️
Levy doesn’t need to be on the same page as the managers. Their job is the football side, his job is paying up to get them the tools. He cannot and should not have a football opinion as he isn’t qualified.

it like me going to a construction site and telling them what equipment they can have to do the job

Second, according to Prof on COYS. This was in response to a positive post about Ange:

I get the impression that many (though not all) COYSers would have been somewhere between okay and enthusiastic with either of the top two names on the list that came out of the original assessment process. #3 not so much, so let's hope they can seal a deal with #2.
Thing which I’m trying to figure out is where does Enrique fit into all this, is he number 3? If he was I think there would be at least as many general fans enthusiastic about him as AP, maybe even more.

Scott Munn was announced In April so I assume talks went on between Levy and Munn Before that.

pretty sure Munn would have suggested Postecoglou back then so wouldn’t be surprised if has has been on our list for a while.

I think there’s still a few more twists in this managerial hunt left

Agree with this. We have this habit of real out of the blue announcements.

Wouldn't surprise me if we had our new guy named by Wednesday and it was none of Ange , Nag or Enrique tbh.

I think Enrique is our save face/avoid embarrassment card as he clearly wants the job

That won’t stop him though.

Clearly is otherwise Slot would have been brought in

Or there could have been a realization/indecision (likely) from those deciding that Slot is their preferred candidate but not for a world record esque fee. Then you could argue all day whether they should pay whatever if it is the preferred choice or you could argue not to pay it unless everyone is 100% on board.

Embarassed to support this club atm, literally self-sabotaged ourselves when we've had all the tools to push on. Unless we sign Nagelsmann and his preferred DOF and actually back them with the signings they want, we have truly failed.

I find it quite amusing how so many have talked themselves into this being a win.
Have they really? Or are people just looking for positives in a thread that's usually overwhelmed with negativity?
I don't think Ange is anyone's first choice but that shouldn't prevent people for looking for the positives in his possible appointment.

Life is shitty enough at present, it's nice to actually read some positivity for once. What is football if we can't have little nuggets of hope?
Let's just complain about everything and expect it all to go to shit!

#3 not so much would suggest maybe Amorim?

#1 Slot
#2 Ange
#3 Amorim

Just makes me wonder how the hell we are still undecided on #2 then. Go get him now Slot is off.

The issue we have at present is that many are almost wishing the next manager to fail because if they dont then Levy gets to continue.
Classic catch 22 scenario.

What decent manager would want to join a club like that?

Agreed but he holds the purse strings and at the end of the day he signs the cheques. So he has a very big say

#1 is Slot, #2 is Luis Enrique and #3 is Ange...that's my guess.
Wasn't Prof the one who said Amorim was one and was impressive in the interview or was that someone else? Enrique seems like a later option that came up to me. I just think with him unemployed we would be pretty much sorted if he was 2nd choice after Slot. I don't see why it drags this long.
