In his broadcaster interview AP said something about going on his family holiday from Tuesday next week. The way he made it sound is that he’ll be leaving everything behind and will be fully switching off after the long season.

Perhaps we’ll find out either way by end of Monday…
So , time for decisive action to get this sorted , either way, beforehand. Oh dear.

I'm not miserable about it, and I hope he does well IF he gets appointed(still not 100% decided and we are still querying others).

I'm still annoyed this is what it's come to after nearly 70 days without a manager, and 6 months knowing this was coming and no amount of optimism is going to change that.
People were plenty excited and optimistic when two shithead negative and cynical "winners" walked in the door and stunk the place out for the most part.

Big Ange likes to play football and seems uncompromising about that. If he comes here, he might not succeed. But at least trying to play footy rather than not make mistakes is a huge leap forward over the dour pricks we've just had. And it would represent at least one person among the senior management of the club who has a footballing philosophy, a personality, and knows his arse from his elbow.

Good luck to him.

Maybe we can send Mason the other way? Let him get about 40 trophies in 3 years and come back to us ready to take over for Ange when he’s ready to enter Assisted Living.

Romano says Enrique is absolutely gagging for the Spurs job (don't know why tbh)

Because its a massive job with a huge salary, one of the biggest roles available in world football. All this talk of AP turning us down is nonsense, if he was offered it then of course he joins.

I think he gets an interview but ultimately someone else will get the job.

They really do seem resigned to him leaving, doesn’t mean it’s us.

Even they think Levy is still capable of fucking it up.

I yearn for a time when other fans do not know our chairman’s name.

I honestly don’t get this tbh. Everyone seems to think Ange is nearly a sure thing. I just don’t get why Enrique would turn down Napoli, who are in a fantastic situation at the moment with a great players and a excellent DoF (even tho there is talk of him going to Juve) on the off chance we don’t go for Ange. Maybe Levy, and possibly even Paratici, have been leading him on.

My only assumption is he feels he has PSG as a back up option but I have a hunch they will go for Jose. Ether way if this is true then he must really want us and the PL.

Personally I’m not wild on ether but I would choose Enrique over Ange, I will still be very surprised if it isn’t Ange tho. I feel there’s just too much smoke.

If he fails - it's a bad thing. It doesn't matter how he plays - if it fails.
True for anyone coming in the door. How you want the team to play, how you implement a plan to succeed, does matter. And it's something you can know in advance about a candidate. He passes that test for me.

a lot of people convince themselves of the most positive scenarios are fact with no information

I agree. My main point is most of us know fuck all. We’re just filtering what smidgen of agenda driven information we have through either a positive of negative lens dependent on our overall feelings about the club at any one time.

Celtic have won more domestic trebles than any other team in football history (7)

They have won the treble 5 times since 2016/2017.

That isn't to discredit anyone. Just thought it was an absolutely insane stat.
It means they have won a domestic treble 4 times in a row, and 5 times in 6 seasons.

Scottish football is in an absolutely terrible state for the neutral.

Or anyone who isn't a Celtic supporter really.
Ange has an almost similar record to Neil Lennon's managing Celtic second time around. (His stats below also takes into account a poor last season for Neil Lennon where he resigned)

Ange Postecoglou
June 2021
Present
11383121873.4521205

Neil Lennon
February 2019
February 2021
11077171670.0022105

Celtic usually bring in more money in sales rather than transfers but backed Ange heavily in the transfer market, with a deficit of 16 million.

With such a fantastic record at Celtic which big club did Neil Lennon go on to join? Omonia, a Cypriot first division club.

Apart from probably having a stronger pull in terms of new signings , I just can't see how Enrique would be a better fit than Ange?
