Yea i'm too confused does no-one actually know where Modric plays. It was said he can play all across the midfield but almost certaintly that won't be RM so will he be a CAM or a LM in the style of D'Alessandro,Kranjcar,Hleb etc? I hope he's a CAM like Fabregas style and plays alongside a solid DM mabye still Zokora is Ramos rates him enough, then we have Lennon at RM and either a new LM or still Malbranque at LM because he adds that defensive steel which that kind of midfield would need.

Alves at left back??? we need better than Zokora in that position and definitely someone to challenge Lennon for his position.

Modric plays predominantly in a central midfield role, pushing forward to support the strikers. Similar to Fabregas. For a small guy he is very strong and also tackles well, great feet. He can play on the left, but not where he is most effective. I think certain times next season he will play behind Keane or Berbatov.
I've sen him play four or five times now and always been impressed

Most of you are going with a 4 4 2 formation, but I can see us doing something more like 4 3 2 1 or 4 2 3 1.

Modric may well start his spurs career off on the left to get him used to the speed of the league, before moving him into the middle.

I cant believe so many people have zokora in their starting teams for next season!!! Jenas would do a better job in his position i think.

Modric is not strong or disciplined enough to play centrally in a 4 man midfield. Ronaldinho or Kaka could not play centrally in a 442 and I believe Modric to be a similar type of player. I know Fabregas does but he is a unique player and he has always had a superb defensive midfielder next to him. I really dont think Modric could play this role and at the moment I cant see any defensive mids of that quality within our reach. We could play like this:

But I'd rather see a fluid 442 as I posted above, this way Modric can float inside and Keane can drift wide left to create space for Modric to attack.

Personally I think Defensive midfield could be perfect for ledders, as it may be better for his Knee, plus we know he has a great defensive brain, perfect positioning and knocks around decent passes, which is all you want in a DM. We could then still play Zakora in DM for some games, or if King is needed as a Central defender. Not a clue what Left winger, centre back or keeper we will buy but have suggested Mcgregor, Jarque and Capel as they seem the best of any previously linked players. fingers crosses on Berbatov staying too!
