We joke but we know Levy knows he has an image problem and he’s very thin skinned over stuff like that. I can see him splashing the cash to appease the fans (rather than appease the manager).

Am I right in saying that if Porro is a loan we're full for loans now (4 max - kulu, lenglet, danjuma, porro) and would mean this would have to be permanent?

I do agree with the sentiment but we just don't seem to have the money. This concerns me as Porro and Kulu will be signed in the summer so we will probably be looking at loan to buy in the summer. Danjuma we may be able to get creative with GLC.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Max 4 loans from the PL, but no quota from other leagues

I'm guessing this is what wlb meant by down to the wire, Roma desperate for permanent but if Zaniolo sits tight, we might secure a loan. I think the fact they want him gone and we're not making it happen when Conte supposedly is desperate for him would be the clearest indication that Conte simply will not be here after the summer.

I wonder if Roma will eventually yield to loan with option.
You would think that the relationship is so strained between the club, the fans and Zaniolo that they would be looking at every option to move him on.

Why pay the lad's salary and banish him to the reserves, when they can get some money for him now?

Yeah i completely agree, it makes zero sense but sometimes Italian teams can be stubborn. As in it will look like a "win" if a player forces a move to a club not offering acceptable terms. They can be really caught up with imagine over logic. As far as we are concerned i still feel like we would have heard our name mentioned by now if we were going to go back in for him. I also wouldn't be surprised if Leeds eventually yield to Roma's demands.

I know I'm wildly optimistic, and have been all along, but I can still see this playing out that if Leeds agree something with Roma then we will match it if we think it's suitable.

Let Leeds do all the hard work and then swoop in late!
With Conte mad keen and Gil leaving not doing this one would be bizarre. I'm sure we're being kept in the loop and if Roma start accepting loans then we should jump in.

I'm wondering if another aspect of it is because we're trying for other players and we can only register 3 new players in the CL.

Yeah I dont see us making a move at all in this one
Agree, i would love to get him, but I don't see it as i don't think Roma will ever accept what we would be willing to offer and I don't think we will go above what we were offering in the past. We have been talking to him for two windows without us agreeing anything, its not going to happen on the last day of the window imo. Still, would love to pull a rabbit out of the hat on this one.
