I just saw an article on Reddit saying that Conte would supposedly plan to use him as a RWB.

If so, that's surely some galaxy brain-level tactic-ing there, but I won't lie I kind of dig it...
It’s from the same source who said it the other week. 90min football

As much as I want Paqueta instead it seems he's a top priority for Conte so I doubt we will walk away that easily. If we were prepared to pay £60m for Maddison I imagine we will go to similar levels if we have to.

The ACL issue is a back of the mind concern(for all) it needs to be reflected in any potential deal by all parties. No one will pay massive for him until we are convinced everything is good in that respect.

Another player where it mentions playing Right wing back. At least we appear to have identified this as the weakest area still needing addressing

Judging by this thread I’d say it’s somewhere around 1 million serious injuries. Give or take 2-3.
That’s why I asked. I only ever skim read a lot of this thread (my bad), but the general feeling is Zaniolo is being held together by duct-tape, spit and saw-dust.

I think 2 ACLs is a serious enough set of injuries to raise a few red flags. Certainly enough for Spurs to get a favorable deal (and some behind the scenes medical assurance that prior ACL injuries are not likely to reoccur (given the new ligaments)).

Roma will also be wary of holding onto a player who might be susceptible to serious injury in the future - so, there is room for give and take - depending on the medical risk.

I can see why it must be a tricky deal. I’m sure Roma are happy to sell but on their terms. Although they probably understand the role his injury record plays in any deal a loan with option doesn’t really help them at all. After all this isn’t Kulu at juve, Zaniolo is considered a important member of their squad. I guess it will come down to how desperately they need money and if AC or Juve offer a better deal, which I doubt they will.

It would probably suit us if we had an option that becomes obligation if he plays a certain number of games.

I imagine that Roma want more certainty on a sale than that that though. Especially as his leaving would weaken their squad.

Traore’s name being mentioned again as an alternative for the RWB role if Zaniolo doesn’t happen. Would add weight to the fact that Maddison isn’t the droid we are looking for.
Don’t read to much in to that, luckily it’s from 1 source which is awful
