Anyone know when Niko's due back from injury? I know we're playing brilliantly right now, but I'd love to see him available for selection again. Imagine being in an opposition team playing against Modric, Parker, Lennon, Bale and Van Der Vaart, and then knowing that if any of them were off their game then Sandro and Kranjcar were waiting eager to get off the bench and replace them?

Can't wait until he's back!

It would be good to have him back, a good player to have on the bench as he offers a goal threat.

I personally hope Pienaar isnt ahead of him in the pecking order.

I'm sure I saw somewhere he travelled with the Croatia squad? I thought he'd be back soon. Maybe mistaken

Pretty sure he didn't travel.

I love Niko and feel for him, but I don't see him getting many minutes, Europa League aside (if we stay in it!).

He looked pretty good at the beginning of the season. If we're playing against a 3 man midfield I'd start him instead of Lennon.

I think he still has a place here, or at least I'd hope so.

The current team is full of pace, which he is desperately lacking. Good technical player but not the ideal fit for current team shape. Bench at best, but he'll need to displace Pienaar, Huddlestone, Sandro and Livermore to even get this far.

I could see him depart in January

I'd have Niko a head of pienaar every day of the week... Some times when you're playing against a pacey full back it maybe a good idea to mix it up and do for the skill then pace.

He traveled with the national team to support the other players, but wasn't fit.

I thought he was really good in the beginning of the season, shame about the injury. He even looked fast (almost) against Liverpool when he set up Ade's first chance. Can't imagine a better player as a back up to our starting midfielders.

It's always difficult when a player isn't first choice, but we need to keep our quality squad players, and they can make a difference when brought on.

If Bale was injured / needed a rest and we were at home he would be straight in there at left midfield for me.

Also a useful option to play centrally if VDV is injured we don't want to go with two conventional forwards.

Not to be used on the right of midfield though.
