Could this possibly be a record?
King aside, is it just a symptom of missing Dawson?
Who is the current weak link in the back four/five?
Gomes/Hutton/Gallas/Kaboul/Benoit
Gomes seems to have got a lot more shakey in recent games, but that might be a lack of confidence of who is playing in front of him.
Hutton justifies being selected over Corluka, but has been skinned alive a few times which has led to goals.
Gallas for me seems incredibly slow and not the player of old. We have been sold a dud and he would be the first player I would replace if Dawson came back.
Kaboul has been okay since coming into the back four, think he offers more at right back, but Bassoung had a terrible start to the season and was rightly replaced. A few comedy moments/sliced kicks but he has rode his luck.
Benoit - The teams marmite selection. Most people rate him, I actually hate him (okay hate is a bit too strong but I hate the way he plays). Flatters to deceive when going forward, seems to link well with Bale but Benoit decides far to often to hoof the ball aimlessly upfront and it leads to nothing. He gets caught stranded defensively which drags the centre backs over to cover, which causes a gap in the box and goal. However, noone seems to give him the blame and centre backs are singled out for being out of possession. For me this is a problem position because we really can't play anyone else here.
We need to sign a premiership left back in January (and a centre back!) and we really should have seen this coming in the Summer.
Wonder how draws to wins, and loses to draws would've been acheived with only a handful of clean sheets. Probably still be top 4 at this rate.
The worry is, i cannot see the situation improving until Dawson is back (or we make some signings in Jan)
