I read somewhere that he couldn't get them back in. Hardly a distraction you want when playing.

If that is true then fair play Defoe needed to come off. But otherwise I've seen rugby players just tape their fingers to a stable one and carry on. Remembering they handle the ball more than Illunga

It made my fingers hurt looking at the pic of Defoe's finger all bent and out of shape... Eek

Defoe was already walking round the pitch on his way to the bench by the time Crouch started to get ready. I was watching it all. But yeah, no need to risk it when it solves another problem.
Was at the game myself and crouchie was stripped off before Defoe got injured:bowdown:

Well I don't know what to say, that's completely the opposite of what I remember seeing :)

Yep fractured hand with dislocated fingers.

It makes sense to come off, as a fracture, could lead to more severe injuries had he carried on and fallen again on it.

So the GK injured himself in a FA cup FINAL, Ince was in the crucial WC qualifier in Rome for England and Butcher's was also in a crucial WC qualifier. JD's was when we a few goals up against Burnley at home, pretty sure had it been a final he wouldn't have come off. What a shocking piece of journalism

No-one had any idea that Bert Trautmann had broken his neck until he complained of pain after the game and had it X-Rayed. If this 'journalist' wasn't a know-nothing numbfuck he'd be aware of minor facts like this.

Yup the guy's a nob-head.

Dunno about you folk but personally think I'd rather have a blood wound rather than my fingers popping out and the physio not being able to pop them back in... It made me feel kinda ill when I read about it... Eek :eek:mg:

Oh and the fractured hand part probably wasn't a picnic too.

Still think the pussy boy should be fit for the weekend though as he only needs his feet! ;-)
