Norwich 1 - 7 Colchester
Norwich slumped to a huge defeat as Bryan Gunn's Championship return bid began in utterly disastrous fashion.
Keeper Michael Theoklitos missed his punch to hand Kevin Lisbie Colchester's first, and Clive Platt finished into an unguarded net three minutes later.
Platt got a second at the back post, David Fox curled in a free kick, Lisbie headed another, David Perkins scored a volley and Scott Vernon tapped in.
Cody McDonald converted a flick-on for Norwich but angry fans confronted Gunn.
Colchester had bagged five goals by the 40th minute, by which time Norwich supporters were already heading for the exits.
Yes this has been totally degrading and must rank as the worst result ever...BUT can we please take time to calm down and think about it

The away side could even have stretched their lead further in the second half, before McDonald's consolation from Grant Holt's flick.
Two Norwich fans ran onto the pitch after Colchester had made it 4-0 and threw their season tickets at Gunn before being ejected.
The result was the worst home defeat in Norwich City's 107 year history.
Norwich manager Bryan Gunn told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"I don't think I can explain it, it's very disappointing that we're standing here on the back of a 7-1 defeat.
"You sit in the dressing room, you scratch your head and wonder why it's got to that stage.
"We can look back on every goal and say there was mistakes, we just didn't apply ourselves right in the first 20 minutes.
"We've got 45 games to go in League One, we need to make sure we never see a performance like that again."
Colchester manager Paul Lambert told BBC Essex:
"It's the best I've seen in years. I thought we were sensational. Winning 7-1 was a phenomenal performance.
"I wasn't going to come here and sit back. Our performance was absolutely unbelievable.
"The front two were brilliant. Lisbie has been a top player for years and is a massive signing for us and Platty has been brilliant in pre-season.
"You never rest at half-time because you think 'if we score five in a half then so can they'."
