I can't quite put my finger on it. But tonight, I feel completely and utterly deflated.

In my 26 years of supporting spurs, this is without doubt the best team I have had the pleasure to watch. We play excellent football with passion, heart and determination. I resonate with players such as Kane, Dier and Alli. I liken players such as Alderwiereld, Eriksen and Lloris alongside the finest I have witnessed in the lilywhite. And the manager epitomises everything we stand for at our great club. I have waited all my life for a team such as this.

But....in this season that has been our best for 50 odd years it still feels like we are falling short again. It was in our power to determine our destiny and win the title. However, in the most remarkable of sporting triumphs we are pipped to the post by Leicester. Could it have happened to anybody but us? It feels oh so familiar what with Chelsea winning the champions league with the worst side in the competitions history therefore defying us out position in Europe's elite competition. Whenever something incredible happens, the beneficiary of the downside is us. In any other season, we would of won the league and deservedly so by being the best footballing side in England.

I admire Leicester. I am jealous of Leicester. Right now....I'd love to be Leicester. Congratualtions to you and you bloody well deserve it.

But if there are such thing as footballing gods then surely one day we are due their luck to be bestowed upon us. One day we will have the roll of the dice in our favour. We have done it the right way without the money, without the cheating and with homegrown players. Leicester have proved it is possible. It must be our time soon...

It's been a great season. We have a side to be proud of. But it's a season I will always remember with envy, misfortune and what could of been.

I'm not sure we will ever get this chance again. But to dare is to do. And I dare to dream again. And I hope in 12 months time I can look back on this post in jubiliation in knowing that we have done it.

2016/2017. Come on Tottenham.

Leicester will be back in their box next season when Kante's £20m release clause is triggered, Mahrez fucks off abroad and Wes Morgan remembers that he is Wes Morgan. They'll blow their transfer funds on players like Michel Bastos and Kim Kallstrom because no good footballer with half a brain would believe they'll ever do this again.

I'd much rather be in our shoes.

Hurts like a bitch. But with this squad and this manager, we will have more opportunities for success.

I'm deflated in a sense but it felt over after the WBA game to me. I am jealous of Leicester, not for their future but for their present. But now that we've been so close I think each season we go without a league win it's actually gonna hurt a bit now after experiencing what we have this season.

It is exciting though too, we will be going into next season with our players looking to win the league and why not? I know Leicester have won and I'm genuinely not trying to take anything away from them but I still think at the moment, we are better than 19 other teams in the league. I just really hope we can replicate a season like this next season. It's a complete shift in mentality, attitude and expectations now within the club I would have thought. I only think that will help us going forward.

If you look at how the big clubs failed to deliver and the fact they'll all be better next year, with Pep, Conte, Mourinho, Klopp etc then you'd be forgiven for thinking the worst. However, as the season has gone on, I genuinely believe we're now on a par with anyone and we have one of the best managers in the league. We have the biggest stadium in London to move into within 2 years and have the youngest team in the prem. We've been brilliant and I'm certain we'll be even better next season. I'm a little deflated tonight, more angry at Chelsea finally deciding to play a game of football this season, but I'm very excited for the coming years.

Just need to beat Southampton to guarantee finishing above Arsenal and it will put the icing on the cake of an amazing season where we didn't win for the first 6 games and were expected to finish 7th or 8th according to pretty much every expert around. Fucking love it.

Funnily enough I felt tonight we saw a different Spurs....yes we lost our heads a little but we cared right to the end.....our only downfall was a lack of experience ..........think the soft centre Spurs has bade us goodbye. Most seasons in the last 20 years we would have taken a 2-2 away draw with Chelsea...this season we are disappointed beyond words.....now that is progress!

We'll be back. The players know what it feels like and won't want to repeat it.

No, not just you. I feel the same.

I got quite a few dislikes on the Chelsea V Spurs match thread for pointing out the pains of tonights game, not the season.

But hey, the overall picture is extremely positive. This isn't just a flash in the pan. COYS!

Not really bothered personally - title was gone weeks ago, and it's only because Arsenal have fallen away that we were even the closest challenger to Leicester. Chelsea were always going to play this game like a Champion's League final and even if we'd won, we all know they'd have rolled over for Leicester on the last day.

My only disappointment is that we let their games get to us, lost our discipline and I worry now that we need results in our last two games to avoid Arsenal crawling above us. We absolutely must beat Southampton but we'll be without Alli, Dembele and possibly Dier, some of our most important players - and Southampton are flying.

It's disappointing because we have played the best football, and only lost 4 games, but then Leicester only lost 3. I don't think it was bad luck or footballing gods or anything like that. We did just fall short but it was our own shortcomings more than anything else. As has been mentioned we had the opportunities to pick up more points from winning positions but for whatever reason we weren't always able to do it.

2-0 up at home v Stoke
1-0 up at home v Newcastle
2-1 up at home against 10 man Arsenal
1-0 up at home against West Brom
0-2 up away at Chelsea

We were just missing the knowhow to see out these games and this is what has cost us. It's frustrating but still a great season should we secure 2nd. Need to push on next season though. The squad clearly wasn't capable of competing in the EL and the PL. And I think Poch is usually reluctant to make changes in games as he probably doesn't have too much faith that the guys he's got available to bring on will make too much difference. I often look at our bench and think "who's gonna actually win us this game should it be tight in the last 10-15 mins??"

We have 70 points in 36 games. In what season is that good enough to win the league? I am dissapointed too, but it's not like we're losing it at the last day, it's not like we're losing it to Arsenal, and it's not like we have achieved nothing. We will be in the draw for the next Champions League group stages, and that is not nothing. So be dissapointed, but let's not lose perspective, it's been a great season, and if we still get second place, I believe the players and the fans will still be able to celebrate it.

such players would only start for us instead of sitting on the bench

I feel deflated too, but don't agree with you about it being in our hands and letting it slip. Leicester have been top more or less the whole season.

Ive always felt connected to the club, but Ive never felt more connected to the team and staff than after today and these last couple of months. And today showed me what we are building and it reminded me of the manu - woolwich games in the viera and keane era. And look what they achieved. Look at the top proffesionals in every sport. To win things you need BIG mentality, pride, and a bit of dele allis cockiness, and these guys are showing it. All of them!

Sod the title, that was long gone, more gutted we're limping over the line now. Southampton are on fire, huge game now as Arsenal's last game is basically a bye
