We can’t afford the likes of Conte so we have to take a chance on up and coming managers in the same way we target potential in players rather than the finished article.

Potter or Gerrard both have massive upside potential which Nuno simply doesn’t have. Or persuade Gallardo to come.

Nuno is blatantly the wrong person for this job so the sooner we act the better. We cannot afford to be heading on this trajectory for any longer.
The issue with Gerrard is you know he will leave us for Liverpool once that job because vacant. I hate to say it but I think that might be sooner than we think (klopp might dip out not fired want to reiterate that). I think Potter was the choice but honestly I hate to say it a lot of people would have stuck their noses up to him because he isn't "Flashy" if we got him instead of Nuno. I think we are going with Nuno through the end of the year and will hear out future prospects.

I can see no improvement coming. What is needed is a tough, tough manager who won’t put up with shit from any player. You know, like a manager in any other business. No carrying, no attitude problems, no lazy bastards. We need a reset. Then recovery can start.

When you think we have had the same problem with the last 3 managers , the manager is not the problem the bloody old guard , not giving a shit just taking there money every week is the problem, remove Ali, ndombele, dier, Davies , Kane , the team is a huge mismatch get in tougher more commited players and we may do well .. stop blaming the manager

What you mean like someone who'll play all the shit in a nothing game and leave them out there to get on with it? That kind of tough?
Recovery has started mate. It just doesnt happen in 3 weeks like some fans think it can.

Top level team sports with the contracts make managing a football club unlike other businesses

Also unlike playing FM or other games which is where a lot of this impatience comes from imo. Reality is a bit different. Or maybe I'm just an old fart lol.

We know that clubs won’t just fire players. Unfortunately, selling isn’t as easy as just accepting a lower fee. This gives managers a harder job.

In a normal industry the manager could fire those underperforming but it’s just not like that in football.

“The painful rebuild” is a reality. It’s going to take several seasons to get rid of the players we need to, then we have to hope the new signings all work out.

It shouldn’t do though. A decent manager should get a better tune out of this side. There is a rebuild but it’s 5 or 6 players not 12

We need a manager capable of implementing a style/system that meets two immediate requirements.
1. The fans want to see some actual front foot football being played, any signs of progressive style will instantly buy some breathing space. I’d be more patient if I could see we are trying to achieve something worthwhile, even if it will take time to bed in.
2. The system should have interchangeability embedded in, so we do not become over reliant on individuals anymore. Anyone that wants out or is underperforming, get them gone, bring in players that want to learn and want to work. If any player is unavailable, we should be able to thing someone else in without having to completely change how we play.
Potter is the most obvious choice, has a clear footballing style, gets his team playing way above the individual parts, and knows the league. ETH also has a footballing stylistic identity, and barring the experience in our league fits the bill like Potter, but sadly I can’t see either of them leaving mid season. In fact I’m not sure I see many managers leaving roles mid season. Which leaves managers out of contract, so Conte, Fonseca, or the dark horse Gallardo given his season ends next month. Lucien Favre is a bit left field option, his age doesn’t scream long term, but given his tactical setups when at Dortmund and his experience of using young prospects, he could be good for a couple of seasons to start the rebuild.
