Hello mates

I just want to say, apart from boring news about Lennon, Berba and Keane, I think this is the most exciting summer ever, not just because we signed Modric, GDS and Gomes and other soon.

But I think in terms of the news we recieved every day, I think people in the official site are doing a great job, we saw Marcos talks about the pre-season every day, and it's good news to see the players working hard in training, and have some funny times in the sea and beach. More news and interviews with the players like what they did with Jansson, Andros Townsend & dos Santos. I think these things made us more relaxed, happy & postive with our preparation for the upcoming season despite some of bad news.

I would like to thank the official site, they were never doing a coverage like that before and they kept us updated every day, the only thing you can argue about late announcement about the some transfers but there are nothing to do with that as it's up to the club board.

best regards.

yeah, i don't understand that.
Surely, someone inside the club must that having an actual Spurs TV channel would be hugely popular with the fans and no doubt raise more cash for the club?

You have to assume that Levy and co, pretty astute businessmen as they are, have a reason for this.

Whilst I and many UK based fans would add THTV to my SKy package were it under a fiver a month (but haven't done on-line) the club may think that in the longer term in the global market only on-line hosting is feasible.

They may feel that after the cost of hosting across several satellite providers worldwide and with the ever-expanding number of channels and services (Sky plus, multi-start etc.) competing for the same revenue that only a few club channels e.g. Man U, Real will ever make money.

The web method means the customer can subscribe immediately and cheaply (in comparison) whether he lives in Tottenham or Togo and the club only have to pay a single set of hoting fees

Yes but when you have to wait 2 hours for it to buffer, I for one just close it down and think bollocks to it. Is it just me?

I'm pretty sure you just have a bad internect connection mate, works just fine for me, always has.

I agree that it'd be nice to have THTV on sky but I don't see it happening any time soon. Spurs TV Online's content is decent if not spectacular. I feel they didn't show enough highlights of the reserves and U-18's last season but the 1st team highlights were very good and updated promptly and there were some nice interviews and features so I was happy enough with it for £3.95 a month or whatever it is.

Just to let you know that the official website will be having another new design going into the new season, it's gonna look the nuts too, I've alreadt seen a sneak peak ;-)

From what little i know, it costs about £1.5-2m to get a TV channel up and running on Sky.

Of course once you've done that you should be able to easily cover your running costs with subscriptions and advertising, however i think the inital outlay involved would be hard to make back for a club with the fan base the size of ours.

So in terms of pure investment i don't think it makes commercial sense to the board (hence why Levy hasn't gone and done it yet).

However as a marketing activity it would really work, probably bringing in new fans and helping cement the loyalty of existing ones. But i guess at the moment all efforts are being directed towards the stadium.
