------------------------Gomes

Hutton-------Woodgate---------King(c)---------Bale

-------Bentley-----------Jenas----------Modric

-------Giovani----------Berbatov-------Arshavin

vs

--------Kalou------------Drogba---------Deco

-------Ballack------------Essien--------Lampard

Cole-----------Carvalho----------Terry(c)------Boswinga

--------------------------Cech

Hope we keep Berba and get Arshavin, because this side looks talented, even enough on paper against Chelsea!

Swap Giovani and Arshavin? And if Arshavin doesnt come, we got Lennon.

Replace Jenas with a top drawer DM and we're sorted. Hopefully Huddlestone can develop into that player, but Albelda would do for now and can pass on his experience to the younger midfielders.

Arhsavin and Gio would work brilliantly swapping sides as well as both are good on both feet. I'd start with Gio on the left and Arshavin on the right though as thats thier natural sides.

A perfect blend of Steve Hodge and Andy Sinton...

From what I saw of Dos Santos at Orient the other night, his right foot's used exclusively for running. But he was swapping around a bit, and looking great on either flank.

Giovani played for Barce on the right in that Messi role quite a bit, luckily they have got Messi otherwise they would never of let Giovani go.

I think Gio has so much ability and talent that to try to confine him to one position is pointless. He will move around all over the pitch, and he could be the bargain of the season.

You could say that about Bentley, Arshavin and Modric though

I would be happy if the team was:

---------------Gomes----------------

Hutton --- Woodgate -- King --- Bale

---------------Hudd-----------------

Bentley - Jenas - Modric - Dos Santos

---------------Bent-----------------

I read the title of the thread and nearly peed with excitement, i tell thee... :|

Is there not enough of these "starting eleven" threads now?

That said, i'm still having trouble with our new keeper: Someone else mentioned it a while ago, but when someone puts Gomes, all i see is Gnomes (but we could have them in goal too, several of them - acrobatic ones that can flip onto each others shoulders and go "Ta daa!" and do jazz hands)
