I'm still blown away by how naturally he has slotted in amongst the rest of the first team - he must train with them a lot to get that kind of instant familiarity, which is a good sign if all our youngsters are getting on so well and can find that same kind of rapport so soon after stepping up.

Really confident, apparently not phased by the big game either, he's looking a real hot prospect so far. Yeah, his positioning does occasionally leave something to be desired and off the ball, if not given much room, he does appear to get forced out of the equation, but if he can work on his pace and finding the space to buy a couple of seconds, he will develop into a fine player.

marney had 1 game and scored twice and set up a goal against everton, aside frm that he was garbage and we did good to get shot of him.

O'hara looks excellent, an english player the scum let go! i mean its all wait and see how he develops, can he be a stevie G or lampard for us? or maybe even a becks for the left wing? very impressed but lets not get carried away!

I thought O'Hara was technically very good, kind of reminds me of Guti in his younger days and I'm confident after seeing him in the last few games that he can make an impact this season

See how it goes. He's played very well in the last 3 games, but i remember Dean Marney having an even bigger impact and look what happened to him. He's now doing the nightshift on Radio 4 (or playing for Hull, i forget which one it is).

Maybe Ramos can make him ito a great player, but when JJ & Zokora (and the defence) are fit, i'm not sure he'll get in the squad, especially if we do sign a player or two in January.

Would be great to see a yiddo come through the ranks though.

I hope Ramos finally sees the difference when Zokora is not in midfield.

even though he's a CM he's got to be a better option for LM than Malbranque, if only because of the left foot

Malbranque was very good in CM again today, Jenas & Zokora could struggle to hold their place down with the likes of Boateng, Malbranque and O'Hara clearly bossing the midfield much better than they have in the previous 6 months

Yiddo? Isnt O`Hara from Arsenal..?

Yeah he came from arsenal but he is in fact a life long yiddo!
He looked great yesterday, fair play to the lad for slotting in so easily, and against possibly the best side in the league (as much as i hate to admit that!)

Hopefully he'll get some more chances this season and can develop some more.

Dude Malbranque wasn't playing in the centre.. O'Hara was.

O'Hara showed he has potential and if he can improve and be consistent he could become a excellent player.

i loved was the way he switched play from left to right 3 or 4 times and also having a left footed player central gives the time great balance.

On the whole, Good debut against a VERY good midfield - if he gives that level of performance up then he will play many more games for us.

Sorry to contradict you chinbo, but I think he's actually a Millwall fan - his father definitely is.

Excellent full debut. Liked his ability to slow the game down and pass simply. Very careful with the ball and tenacious in the tackle, however...............

So left footed and needs to pick up his fitness - however these are minor criticisms in what was an excellent start in what is hopefully a long career in WHL

I know his father is a millwall fan, but im pretty sure jamie is a spurs fan. His dad probably had other ideas for him as a youngster but Im almost certain he's a spurs fan.
I maybe wrong tho, you got me thinking now!

Go and find out!!! Investigate dear boy (I'm assuming), investigate!!! Ask questions, interview people, tie them up and shine bright lights in their faces until they confess!!! We need answers!!!

I posted this in the match ratings forum, but since it's about young Jamie:

"Two months ago Jamie O'Hara was on loan at Millwall, so angry at being substituted before half time he stormed out of Carlisle's ground, borrowed some cash for a train back to London and found himself en route to Glasgow."
http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,,2231752,00.html

It could just be that O'Hara's style of play - keeping possession, switching play, pressing, keeping the team shape - is an excellent fit for what Ramos wants from his CM players. Plus, as Eddie Bailey stated, an O'Hara-type player will be far more effective alongside top class players.

I think everyone is getting a bit carried away but he did look uite good.

THe thing I liked was that he was an accomplished all round player, unlike say Zokora, who cant kick a football, or Malbranque, who cant move.

I want to see him play with Jenas because I can see that being a good partnership. I would like that amount of energy in our midfield and we would have the foundations for a good passing team there

i think if he does get up to full fitness then it will cure his positional faults as well, and give him a foot more pace when on the ball - he's not exactly Linford Christie now, if we're honest ;)

I'm not entirely sure what his best position will be but he looked very accomplished in a holding role yesterday. His passing was as good as Huddlestones, he's quicker than Huddlestone and he can tackle, unlike Huddlestone.

In other words if we have to get rid of one in January then I'd definitely choose Huddlestone based on what little I've seen of O'Hara so far.

All that being said however I still think that we are talking about the battle to be back up central midfielder...at best.

I like O'hara. I saw him a couple years back play the under 19's tournament in the semis against Ipswich (who had a couple of good light footed youngster as well) and he was the only one I thought 'yeah looks good, could make it'.

He done well yesterday, his passing and distribution was alright, he was box to box.
Let's hope he develops further, because the truth is he will have to.

Since I joined this forum I always questioned youth development under Jol.. It was non-existent! So good to see, even if his rise to the first team may not be all his doing.
