I don’t know what the answer is. I’m certainly not advocating getting rid of Poch, but I just feel there’s no reason we should be in transition as a club. The likes of Arsenal, Utd and Chelsea as you said are genuinely in transition for obvious reasons. We shouldn’t be.
And FYI they still win some trophies long the way while 'transitioning'..

The whole RB situation baffles me too, but I don’t think Sanchez was the reason for the poor performance tonight.
He wasn’t the reason we were poor. But it made us weaker as a whole. We had no outlet down the right (or left to be fair as Davies was totally ineffectual going forward yet again)

Another concern is that we all know that Levy can be a ruthless bastard.
With Poch's weird comments to the press at the latter part of last season, and throughout the transfer window, I could quite easily see Levy's patience wearing thin quickly, especially if he has someone like Mourinho loitering in the shadows.

Levy has invested a lot of time, effort and money into this club and he's yet to finalise the stadium sponsor. He's also invested a lot of money into the squad, more so than ever before, over this summer. He's not going to want things failing now moreso than ever, as this was his new beginning for the club.
I could quite easily envisage him drawing up contingency plans already.
Trouble is mourinho would come in and sort this out in the short term no question but he doesn't stick around to long as he picks fights etc, so we would be back to square one and what is the point in that levy will stick with him regardless of whether we make top four or six.

Depending on who to believe, but there has been plenty of stuff said about the recruitment policy over the last few seasons and how much of that was Poch's fault for having unrealistic options or players we just couldn't get (not quoting anyone and not totally sure this was the case, but there was def stuff along those lines). Basically things going stale is a Poch issue, as well as a Levy issue - only Poch is the fall guy in any given scenario though.

Sure, responsibility has to be shared between Levy and Pochettino. But Levy has been here for almost 20 years now, look at his results with Pochettino and without Pochettino. I'll happy back Pochettino in this case.

We went to a European Cup Final 4 months ago, I know it's not a trophy but it is something that's never happened in our history. Four straight years of top four.

We've had one of the most stable and consistent squads in Europe since 15/16, anyone saying we were in transition was talking nonsense. Now we genuinely are rebuilding our squad with breaking our record spend twice this summer and other moves, it's going to take some time.

Sessegnon and Lo celso have barely played. Ndombele has played 3 times. The rest of the first 11 is virtually the same. No transition at all. Other teams seem to buy players and integrate them without the excuse of it being a transition. It should be evolution of the team and not be used as an excuse.

Yes I know and the team never turned up for it as usual I'm not sure where you have been but certain people on here every year try to convince others that it will be another tough year so bear with it nothing really changes.

Well that is very unusual. Poch very, very rarely calls out a performance as basically shite. Even when it’s clear to everyone it has been.

Good. It’s about time he has. Maybe he’s had to because they aren’t reacting to him in other ways?

Eriksen was atrocious tonight. He has mentally and emotionally checked out of the club. He has had so many lackluster performances over the last year or so and tonight was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Have loved having such a talent at the club for so long but it’s over. He isn’t going to sign a new contract and from a business standpoint I totally get it. Having the odd bad game is one thing but he has continually stunk the place out game after game for months now. Not sure Poch can get the best out of him and as much as I hate it say it he needs to play a bit part this season.

Eriksen wasn’t the only poor performer tonight but he looked so out if it his performance stood out as the worst.

Surely in this case it would’ve made sense to use a couple of attackers wide rather than our usual chronic narrowness, adapt the tactics to the players available

I agree we shouldnt be in transition but we are and the reason we are is because we havent strengthened properly in the past particularly last summer.

Next summer we will most likely be having to change our defence... another excuse unfortunately.

We have a set of good players but we also have some issues real issues and think Poch needs to sort this out and by sorting out I mean he needs to sort himself out. There is no identity to how we play now, we used to... what the hell has changed...

Oh yeah, I'm not saying I want him, it's just a feeling that I have.
He's always had a soft spot for us and iirc, he and Levy get on well.

I dont want Poch to go but it's worrying, especially after his comments tonight, that players who used to run themselves into the ground for him, are now not listening to his instructions.

I have no idea how he played 90 minutes.
