I agree we shouldnt be in transition but we are and the reason we are is because we havent strengthened properly in the past particularly last summer.

Next summer we will most likely be having to change our defence... another excuse unfortunately.

We have a set of good players but we also have some issues real issues and think Poch needs to sort this out and by sorting out I mean he needs to sort himself out. There is no identity to how we play now, we used to... what the hell has changed...

It's almost like being the first club to add no one during a summer window was a fucking terrible idea and is going to be damaging for a long period of time.

? these are not good words to hear (except the last few)

What did you make of that performance today?

I feel very disappointed. To be honest, first half I wasn’t happy with our performance. From the beginning we had a plan and we didn't respect the plan. That was what disappointed me the most. I told the players at half-time.

Since May 2016 you had never let a two-goal lead slip until this month when you've done it twice, are you worried your players are forgetting some of the lessons you've taught them?

I think it's easy to explain. When we are not showing that intensity that the competition demands we struggle. We are not talking about quality. We're talking about being focused, concentrated, aggressive, anticipating the action. How many times did we anticipate today? How many times we were not proactive like we were against Palace.

That is a very good example in three days, it's a massive difference. It's not about tactics, it's not about quality players, it's about the quality of preparing yourself to be ready to fight.

At this type of level you need to match the opponent in terms of intensity, aggression, in excitement and motivation and then is going to appear your quality when you are connected with the game. That's the first demand you need to work with. It's not only the responsibility of one person. It's everyone's responsibility and it's not possible to, in three days, how we start the game today be a massive difference. That is my disappointment. I feel disappointed for everyone.

Of course we can say after that we scored twice and maybe in the second half we played better, but I think from the beginning of this season we are conceding a lot of chances, a lot of goals and we need to change that way. I think the only way we can change is demanding more from ourselves and that is the way we are going to change, trying to be more consistent over different days, showing more performances like Palace and not like today. Training needs to be harder, psychologically harder.

Eriksen must be benched after that bullshit. We have Alli, Lamela, Son, Moura for 3 forward roles. That should be plenty.

Oh shit! Harder training?! Psychologically harder too?

People are going to panic about his words mostly because frankly the likes of this forum and twitter are being hysterical and seeing every negative thing as evidence that the end is nigh but what he just said in that press conference is pretty much other 4 pages of his book. It's not an indication of unrest, it's a common gripe of his.

None of those is an adequate replacement for Eriksen - even at 3/4 level.

Which is not to say he shouldn't be dropped but just to point out that we would be significantly weakening the team's potential output by doing so.

If ValenciaYid is right and Levy is ready to sack Poch at the drop of a hat then Poch will not be doing that in a hurry I'd guess.

Like making a Champions' League final?
To be fair and honest, a lot of out CL run was down to luck.
Yeah, we got there but getting to the final also papered over a lot of cracks in our general performances.

Sure, responsibility has to be shared between Levy and Pochettino. But Levy has been here for almost 20 years now, look at his results with Pochettino and without Pochettino. I'll happy back Pochettino in this case.
If I'm honest, the foundations were already being built before Poch got here, and I can not disagree that Poch has taken us to the next level, as well as Levy. We now have the best training facilities in Europe and arguably one of the best stadiums in Europe too. I want to see if Poch can go that extra step, and whilst it would be unfair to judge him on this season so early, I think we can judge him on everything that has gone before over the past season or so. That, of course, is history now and we need to see if Poch can get the most out of the team once he has the opportunity to get Lo Celso, N'Dombele and Sessegnon firing in the team.

We also just seemed happy to be there...... and forgot it might actually be a good idea to win it.

Absolutely we got lucky and fair play to the club but once we got there it was the usual performance when under pressure.

I think it says more about you mate. Basking in the glory of losing a final.

No doubt it was an achievement to get there. But it’s nothing to be celebrating for years to come.

Yeah, we got there but getting to the final also papered over a lot of cracks in our general performances.

Yes but the inverse of that is that we showed incredible mental strength to paper over those cracks.

Were ANY of us expecting to make a CL final?

But that measure it is TANGIBLE success.

If you can't celebrate it then you're just not really a supportwr. You're an expecter. Which is fine but not actually that realistic. So I Just get a bit bored by people misering over unrealistic expectations rather than celebrating tangible and real improvements ie: MAKING A FUCKING CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL.

When we get dumped out of the CL group and are 6th at Xmas you can go at with glee. But right now I still like to think I'd prefer to support the club and manager and team. cheers.
