This lad could be worth a few bob very soon. Was very impressed with the lad during very brief U21 appearance.

Can see why Arsenal and City have been sniffing.

I read that Arsenal were looking at him (aswell as a couple of other Championship youngsters). I haven't a clue who he is, or even who he plays for!

Derby Midfielder - very good on the ball and the little I saw he looks a little Wilshire like - hopefully its just from the footballing perspective.

Better than Tom Carroll? yes maybe - but thats with very little viewing. He has quicker feet and the brain to go with it. I will try and catch him playing for Derby

Had a conversation about this lad yesterday funnily enough as my friend told me that a lot of the bigger Prem clubs were after him and scouting him.

Arsenal have scouted him extensively over the last 12 months and have spoke to the club about a deal.

Liverpools new scouting and recruitment team that started last month have also started to have him scouted most games but nothing official so far.

Dunno about anyone else, but everyone is all over him like a rash so I'd imagine all the usual suspects will be interested in him so will be interesting where he goes.

From his end the only thing it is said he wants is to go to a club where he'll play and at least have a chance of getting in the first team, and have demonstrated a willingness to do this in the past, so I reckon that rules out City and Chelsea at least.

Gut instinct says Arsenal as most of the kids seem to love to go there because of wenger and this reputation they've gained of promoting through the ranks rather than buying stars in.

He is interesting City and they have reportedly made a £5mill bid for him, if he leaves he will get lost and never been seen again but City's marketing director just signed from Derby but he shouldn't leave Derby just yet, as for being better than Carroll I dont think he is atm but in he is playing a lot more football than him and that will help him

He shouldn't look to leave Derby in at least a year or 2 and the fans feel Mason Bennet is another one to really watch

That info is wrong, I am sorry to say since just over 12 months ago he wasn't a Derby Player he was playing for my local team

Edit: spoke to mate he knows a couple of derby players says he was playing for Derby Youth team and my local team as well as repton boys apparently(which isnt really allowed) so Im guessing he was on a free 12 months ago but he says city seem to be the ones after him the most

Looks the business, shame is all these English starlets seem to fade. Hopefully the new generation don't as I want to feel passionate about international football once again!

I was at the leeds game and he was brilliant as said in a different eriksen thread he is like Carroll but at the moment Hughes is playing with confidence and not scared to impose himself on the game(which actually for that position may decide if you are a good player or a great one), he also is surprisingly good dribbler

Confirmed he is a Liverpool fan so gives us an advantage if we decide to go in for him from what has come from him I'm told.

He doesn't really hide this on Twitter either TBH.

Been watching him a lot and not sure abut him. Seems decent enough but doesn't seem to have a defensive role/speciality nor attacking ones either. Seems to be an old fashioned box-to-box centre mid which we don't really use so dunno where he would fit in for us?

See how he gets on I suppose, but pass for now until he's proven he's consistent over a good amount of time.

I think that is the key tbh, they are quiet a few youngsters that have performed just as well as him but because they are tied up by parent clubs and on loan they dont have the hype, the fact he is at a club that does sell players to make a tidy profit means he is a hot topic at the moment

Look at Caulker he was voted bristol city player of the year when he was 18 and James said he was a future england star but because he was on our books nobody cared as we would never sell hence no hype and even when he played just under a 100 games in the season he started at the age of 19 in the premier league 90% of fans had no clue who he was

How has nobody mentioned his stand out quality yet....... Wtf is going on with his hair?! I'm sure he's a great talent but I can't take him serious when he looks like an albino Ed Sheeran!
