We'd be saying the same about our club. What the yanks have done is awful. I like the scouser fans, albeit a bit arrogant, they're brilliant towards liverpool. The kop in full song is magic.

It wasn't the yanks.

Liverpool have had the 3rd highest net spend in the Premiership over the last 5 years.
A couple of seasons ago Benitez lost the plot and bought some pretty poor players for huge money. Keane, Johnson and Aquilani were around £55 million.
Contrast that to Harry's last 3 Crouch, VdV and Gallas for about £17 million.

Benitez won the CL and that bought him a lot of time, more than most mangers would get, and he used it to dismantle a side that, with a couple of extra players , could have won the Premiership.

The yanks may have cost Liverpool £30 million a year extra in interest but they still made over £50 million a year more than us. It was the manager's decision to piss that extra money up the wall and, therefore, the manager's fault for what has happened on the field.

I have a number of issues with Pool fans with shit like this. First the underlying bigotry towards Americans. The fact that there nationality is even mentioned shows you that some people are turning it away from football and making it a psuedo immigration issue.

Secondly, to lay the blame at Hicks for everything is unrealistic. This video is not a " we want our club back" video. Rather, it is a "we know there are new owners with lots of money waiting in the wings so screw your interests and just fuck off" video. Unrealistic.

Oh, and how long are scousers going to be peddling the "we gave you the Beatles" shit? It was 50 years ago!

"sold down the swanny to two American businessmen"
"giving all Americans a bad name"

Oh come on, I had to watch that darn video twice to pick up on what you are implying based on the above two quotes.
On the basis of the first point of your post I have to ask whether your post is turning it away from football and making it a pseudo anti-scouse issue?

My view that Liverpudlians are reminiscent of neanderthals really has no impact on my opinion.

Theres many similarities with our own experience with Sugar . This is generally airbrushed out of our history , but 'we want our club back' is exactly the sentiment expressed at the time . ' Turned us into a mid table team' also was precisely our mantra...though we'd add 'Downsized' to the complaint .
The fan group 'Save Our Spurs' (SOS)were active on many fronts .

It is largely forgotten how furious large sections of our fans were (including myself) ,the demonstrations and harassment of Sugar and his family .

Anyone not around in thew 90s should not underestimate how widespread and bitter feelings were at that time .

So , I recognise the angst....but natch am very happy to see Liverpool and mebbes Utd later, going down this road .

But its tough on the fans . I know this from personal experience .

Thats bullshit. The only reason the nationality of the owners has been mentioned is because the perceived tendancy of American owners levarage the acquisition debt against the clubs assets choking up their cash flow somewhat. The PL has 3 American owners, G&H have done this, the Glazers have done this and yes Lerner has not but you can't blame them for tarring American owners with the same brush considering the examples which have been set.

Thank goodness for Levy. It is nice to have a real professional with his head screwed on running the club. Leveraged buy-outs are struggling at the moment, EMI being one example.

The business model of the LBO means that servicing the debt overrides all other investment priorities. Pleasingly we do not have to worry about that. COYS.
