this XI starts and ends with Mislav Orsic from Zagreb. That loss hurt so didn't realize it at the time, but how crazy is it that he is a complete nobody with a background in the Korean League scored a world class hat trick that peak Cristiano would be proud of.
I mean Orsic is a late bloomer but very much a good player who has improved every year and there is a reason he is a national team fixture. So, I would say sure he put in an absolute Worldie against us he is unlikely to match in the future. But, he's not a nobody, just a very good player not in a top league and one which could easily play in a top league and probably would be if he didn't even begin to impress until 26 and has only been clearly a level above his league at 27/28.

A lot of goalkeepers. I always found Rob Green and Ben Foster in their early days would always play well above their level against us, but in their later days less so. Though Ben Foster did give us that Robinson goal. Tim Krul as well.

Craig Bellamy always terrified me when he played against us, in fairness there was a time he just was a very good player. Kevin Davies as well is the only player in the league who would quite regularly bully Ledley King in a duel. Which sounds absurd. Martins for sure. Adebayor was a good player on his day but his record of 10 goals in 15 games is just inexplicable.

Another player that sticks in my mind is Martin Petrov

yeah he is a full international and apparently scored a hat-trick vs. Atalanta in a previous European match as well.

So he's definitely far from a nobody.

However I would rebut and argue that basically no one outside Croatia could name Mislav Orsic before our game.

Lacazette has been pretty poor for Arsenal but always scores against us. Alonso for Chelsea, though some may argue he’s a good player and doesn’t fit this thread.

Vague memories of Jelavic terrorising us.

Woan and Jemson from Forrest. And always in the Cups. I hated those two.

I remember losing at home to Reading 1-0 and their goalie having an absolute blinder that day. We dominated the game and threw everything but the kitchen sink at them but the Reading goalie was in full Sir Ian McKellen/you shall not pass mode. They obviously scored a scrappy goal from a set piece if I remember correctly.

I wish I could remember his name!

Probably Adam Federici?
