Still that will make them very light defensively.

Real Madrid showed for years that packing a team full of attacking players doesn't work, you need a balance. If Chelsea think they can play Hazard, Mata, Marin and Oscar in a midfield with only one DM, they will get bum-f**ked by a fair few teams.

And the players will lose form and get pissed off and they'll sell them for at best half the value they paid for them.

Oscar at £25m is mad, i honestly believe that Kaka would be available from Madrid for that price and be a better player in the short term.

It is quite funny how everyone tries to make themselves feel better by poo-poing their signings.

A front four of:

Mata___Oscar___Hazard
_______Torres_______

could be dynamite. Not sure where Ramires will play, or if they have any decent holding players, but they have some exciting attacking talent.

It could be dynamite. It could also fail to deliver.

that's a very harry redknapp-esque opinion.

And their DM's aren't good either. They should have bought a decent DM instead of Oscar, if they knew anything about structure in football teams.

Ramires will have to play a more disciplined game perhaps but they will be fine. A 4231 with Mata, Oscar and Hazard as part of the three with Ramires alongside a strong DM (Fellaini's been linked) behind them in the two would make for a pretty awesome midfield in my view. Marin isn't good enough to be a first team regular so he won't be shoehorned in. With Torres looking back to his old self as well Chelsea are looking a scary proposition for next season unfortunately.

There is no way Torres is back to his old self - yet. Showed signs of improvement, but not at his best like 3 years ago. Drogba out of the picture completely should be a catalyst, make or break for him this season - with Chelsea anyway.

It would have been 12 months ago, but Kaka made 39 appearances for Real last season scoring 8 goals and with 14 assists, i'd call that a return to form. Not at the same level that got him signed by Real, but if Oscar is worth £25m then surely Kaka is too.

We'll see. Myself I felt that I could see some very strong signs of him getting back to his old goalscoring ways through the end of the season and the Euro's. Just needs an extended run now with Drogba out of the picture. The confidence is back. Even if he doesn't score as many as he used to though I believe that his all round game is better now and that there will be many goals coming from those around him.

Hazard is the one huge improvement Chelsea have made. The others are good prospects who may or may not come off but we're never going to see them all on the pitch at the same time. I'd be more worried if they had spread their spending about instead of buying a gazillion AMs.

No, I'm agreeing that Drogba out of the way should ease the pressure somewhat. Just don't think he's at the level he was - yet...signs of improvement for sure but still a way to go to reach the level he was once at - which was about the most deadliest finisher in the world with outstanding movement.

They're linked with Cavani too this morning. Roman is taking this rebuilding thing seriously.

i've seen hazard and oscar probably half a dozen times each and oscar has looked by far the more impressive, not a big enough spread of games though so perhaps i caught them on bad/good games respectively.

I'm glad Danners changed the title of this thread, every time I read Oscar Internacional I thought about that Israeli Trannie that won the Eurovision a few years ago

I've only seen Oscar on YouTube videos so am in no position to judge him but i've been following Hazard since the 2007 Euro U17s (I even posted on COYS that I had e-mailed Damien Comolli about him I was so impressed). He can be inconsistent but on his day he's genuinely world class (and by that I mean he would get in my current fantasy World XI) so if Oscar is better he's some player.

They've brought great players no doubt about that but I'm still not sure on Roberto di Matteo. He was sacked at West Brom for a reason. Expectations are always high at Chelski and it will be even more this season, especially if AVB is doing well here and he failing over there. The media will be all over that.

No they won't. Everyone loves Chelski...
