Reading this thread has made me realise how sensible some of our fans can be, I've been dealing with so much negativity on Twitter I've had to block so many anti Levy and anti Enic accounts.

Credit to you guys though, it's probably a reason why I keep coming back on here.

Id just like to drop this in here.......

Are we in a much worse state with regards to the stadium financing than first thought? Talk of approx 50m per year pay back perhaps not as close to the truth as first thought? Or do the owners what to pay it off sooner in order to profit for themselves sooner with no debt after building the infrastructure up to the standards they have?
These are all questions in my mind. We have 1 week of the transfer window left and despite getting in tanguy we are far far below where we should be as far as being readily available to invest (money available). Our wage structure is very low for our revenue (approx 42%?)and we know those revenue numbers have and will continue to explode. We have a player in kane (one if our own) which are extreemly few and far inbetween and we need to make the most of it.

I hate the 'dont dare to question our leaders' attitude if some people but understand that they feel that way due to the darker and leaner times the club have gone through. But also if i suddenly became a self made multi millionaire id sure as hell be getting questioned if i continued to penny pinch just because id had to live that way when i was piss poor.

so with the 2 main targets we haven't signed yet, when do you believe we should of bought them

we haven't had a full season in the stadium yet to bring the wage level up, and I'm sure they can only be raised by a max % per season, and a lot of our players wages where lower due to their ages, it's not Levy's fault Poch has turned them into stars. look at how much wages Kane & Alli is since they made the break through compared to what he was on when he 1st appeared for the team. they would be higher if Toby, Jan and Eriksen had accepted improved offers in the last 2 seasons. Rose might of got offered more till he sided with Walker

Attitude of the fans are great, largely optimistic and supportive despite blatant reasons for being entitled to more than what we've gotten so far.

What's lacking is the attitude within the club, the final desire, yearning on multiple levels. And if one would want to change the fans' attitude, one would start with building a winner club to get winner fans. It's not the fans' job to change the mentality of the club, but the club to prove themselves enough to deserve even better fans.

But honestly, we are great fans, and the club is lucky to have us.

i find it admirable how excited our fans get at the start of every summer window and how adamant they are that this year will be different, poor bastards.

we are great fans, but Poch could be worried and expected a better atmosphere in some games last season when we went into the new stadium. at the start v Palace it was great, but on a night like that, the Palace fans shouldn't of been heard. the only real match it was electric was Man C, but it needs to be like that even when your 1-0 down.

myself the corporate even though it brings in the money could do with a reduction and get some extra bodies in that will give it some noise. in the old stand we had a pretty silent West Stand, now we have the same but it's so much bigger

I'm going to save that quote for a week, and if we get our targets, come the end of the window for Europe I'll ask you about our net spend.

funny thing is the answer will be "about time", or "about time, but we should of still bought ????".

dit: I won't be on till the Friday as away in a caravan with little wifi from Sunday.

Our squad spent much of last season down to bare bones, and yet was demonstrably good enough.
I think losing 13 league games and finishing 27 points off the top two is not good enough. Getting to the CL final was a bonus and we were very lucky to make it when we could have gone out in the group stage but we got there somehow and when we did we played very poorly especially as Liverpool were equally as bad(Probably the worst CL final ever).
I Don't know about Poch but I do think the club and many of the supporters are happy with a top 4 finish and CL.

I'm not surprised, I expected as much. It's very hard in the PL to build a large stadium and not sacrifice atmosphere. It's sort of a given. But honestly, Spurs fans are patient, happy-go-lucky, never complaining and largely have the back of almost anybody regardless of inaptitude.

I still think the volume could go up. v Man C it was great. every game should be seen as a big game

I will be angry if we don't get at least Lo Celso over the line, and hoping for Sess. if we end up not signing anyone else I'll be fuming even if I think we will still be better off compared to last season. we need Lo Celso even if Eriksen stays, I just hope Fernandez is brought in if we know Eriksen isn't going to sign, but won't be as angry if he doesn't join.

All comes down to the remainder of this window, failure to strengthen further & we shouldn't be surprised come the end of the season if we don't reach our top 4 targets or trophy ambitions. Serious questions need to be asked if this window peters out the way its looking, as fan we have to demand more.

I think the #backpoch twitter kids should do what the brainiacs in the USA are planning to do at Area 51.
Levy and his evil henchmen cant stop them if enough of them turn up...they'll be able to liberate the underground bunkers of cash that Levy has been squirrelling away all these years, and spend it on the players chosen by the #backpoch twitter kids.

I keep having the same conversations with Spurs fans, going crazy that we aren't spending 100's of millions because this seems to be our 'only chance'.

Look at Everton, a similar club to us ten years ago. Great fan base, some good history, not a huge stadium and don't go and spend huge wages on players. Without huge oil money investment over these years look where we are and look at them. The progression of this club over these last ten years probably can't be replicated by any other in Europe. Going from a decent top 10 team that played entertaining football, to Champions League regulars / finalists and battling it out in the top 3/4 of the hardest league in Europe and being competitive - when against City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal who all currently or did have way may spending power than us. It's been nothing short of phenomenal that during these 10 years we have not only remained competitive, but, We have also built the best or one of the best training facilities and stadiums in Europe during this time of pretty average success.

Then this window we go and buy one of the most sought after CM in world football in a position that was highest priority at a decent price nearly 20m less than Pepe. We have gone and grabbed one of the most exciting players in the Championship and fingers crossed we end up with someone like Lo Celso or similar before the window shuts. Yet people are going crazy that we aren't backing the manager, that Levy is rubbish, that we should just go and pay what the selling club wants.... do people not realise how bizarre that sounds, then following it up with, it's only 10m?! We aren't currently at the point of United, or backed by Oil that we can behave in such a way.

The window isn't closed yet, lots can still happen. If this time next week, Rose, Toby and Eriksen leave and we only bring in say Lo Celso. Then go ahead and vent because that would be difficult to process even for me, but people seemingly acting like this has already happened and completely ignoring the amazing journey we have been on these last 10 years, to spout rubbish that Levy should go and we aren't pushing on, it pure craziness.
