I still think this competition is important. A run to the final with 7 home games plus prize money could be worth £20m to the club. Plus coefficient points and more game time for fringe/ youth. Next week a A/B team should be enough to get job done. Tbh I think we will thump them 4 or 5. A mate and his kid can’t afford to be members, he just got his first match day ticket this morning and his kid hasn’t stopped smiling apparently.

I would like to mention J'Neill Bennett who I thought did excellent for the few mins he was on. Constantly trying to make things happen. It didn't work for him but his enthusiasm was appreciated by me at least :)

Just a passing thought but do we really care if we progress in this Euro Conference League ? Doesn’t seem that we do with the team we put out last night. Either that or we seriously misjudged our opponents.

Yes we do. The group stages will be great to give the lads like Scarlett and Sess much needed competitive minutes.

The team picked was fine. We are 1-0 down with a home leg to go. We will go through. Our bench will probably be a lot stronger in the home leg. It was the right decision to not make the 1st XI travel.

The club obviously does not care about it, so I don't. It's a competition for fringe players, players returning to match fitness and kids for us and that's fine. The prize money is not worth us risking injuries to our good players.

Main prob for me was how intensely boring the match was . Barely any goalmouth incidents at all . Oppo were pretty good at pressing and had intensity...qualities that stymie us whichever of our teams we play . No noticeable signs that anyone on our side has much future ,tho as has been pointed out these were kids and have potential , I'll defer to that judgement .Still waiting for Sess to show something for our large outlay tho .

I completely approve of zero 1st teamers flying to Portugal . I reckon that it can be tiring just to travel for players and welcome their rest for Sunday. However we do have players other than kids but not in the 1st team who could have been there..yes you TN for example.

Tanguy not being fit enough for selection for the entire pre season, or this game where a fit and firing Tanguy could have been the difference between that 1-0 loss and a 1-0 win is a disgrace. He needs a size 10 up his jacksy. People (rightfully) criticise Winks but at least he's fit enough to be available for selection.

Both Poch and Jose have been down this road before, fielding a young, inexperienced side. Our talent doesn't run that deep in the first team let alone further down the pecking order.

No doubt that we will win the tie, but not with the same lineup.

Still not fussed about last night's result, still not fussed about the competition, it's the Papa John's trophy of European football and I seriously think it will be detrimental to play our premier League side in it. The one benefit of not having European football is the luxury of a full week between league games and this competition isn't worth giving away that advantage.

Feel at the start of the season premier league teams should say yes or no if they want to be in Conference league. Then the ones who say yes can battle it out between themselves to finish highest in the league and qualify for it. Sure teams like, Palace, Newcastle, Brighton, West Ham, Wolves, Southampton would welcome the chance to have a go in Europe and have realistic chance of winning it.

while it would be nice to win a trophy it’s hardly something to get excited about winning the conference league.

For teams like us even if we win it we are more than likely to make a financial loss from taking part it in. Struggle to see the home games selling out or getting decent attendces.

Just watched Nuno's post match interview. He agrees we were disorganized, didn't create enough but acknowledged that the selection was intended to raise fitness level.s

Gotta say he's nowhere near as charasmatic as Jose, but he knows his stuff.

He said we need to find a way to fit Bryan Gil in. He said Romero will adopt quickly.

Jose was charismatic? Sociopathic maybe. I’ve seen more charisma in a bag of cheesy puffs.

After the ESL uefa and the premier League brought in a rule that if you refuse to play in a uefa competition then the team is automatically banned from playing in the premier League.

There’s little money to be made in this competition even if you win it. £750,000 I read, I think. We made more than that just in beer sales last Sunday.

I think we should play our u-23 team in this competition with the odd senior coming back from injury. If we get through to the next stage.
