The Levy hate in this thread is genuinely so childish.

Levy didn’t choose Nuno, he didn’t choose the team today. He wasn’t responsible for 6 of our first team players being unavailable today.

Hate on him in the transfer window all you like but the team we put out today was still more than capable of winning and not being on the back end of a 3-0 loss.

You can say it was one of those days and everything that could have gone wrong did - injuries beforehand, injuries during the game, an increasingly patched up defence, red cards, penalties, etc - but that would be kidding ourselves. We were second best throughout, had little discernible game plan, and were so flat today.

Early days, but much like last season, results and sheer effort have masked big deficiencies in quality/performance so far. It is inevitable that will run out though. You simply cannot offer so little with the ball, in terms of both your plan and then quality to enact it, and hope to do anything long term.

A game like that does nothing to allay my fears about Nuno and what football we're in for and what he's comfortable with. Mid-low block, give up the ball, seemingly pinning our hopes on Moura slaloming his/our way upfield so we can counter.... Just fuck off with that. It has to be better.

I don't understand that first paragraph. The reason(s) that we were second best throughout is everything you mentioned in the previous sentence, so it's not kiddin ourselves at all.

We lost Bale, Vinicius and Lamela and only signed Gil as an attacking replacement, who Nuno seemingly won't play yet in the league. I don't see how anyone can argue that squad as a whole ins't weaker than last season. Dele, Bergwijn and Moura are not goal scorers, so if you mix them with Skipp and PEH, you likely aren't going to create much.

The bothersome thing is that even if Lo Celso were available today, I'm not at all confident he would have been selected. Beyond that, Nuno frankly should have been figuring out a way to integrate Ndombele back into the squad much sooner and used man management to get the best out of him. The squad isn't strong enough to sideline one of your only creative players.

Think you’ve been extremely generous in giving Dele and Kane a 3. Kane was shit today but it can be said he’s been on international duty, but Dele hasn’t (and isn’t going to be in the future based on his performances) so there’s no excuse for his lethargy or anyone else in the team who didn’t play in international games.
Harsh on Dele. He had some moments ie the block

Really don’t care about where we finish in the table as CL was always a pipe dream this season. Just want to see us play football and enjoy it. Why on earth can we not find a manager that wants to plays football? I understand the need to sit back and counter against teams like City, but setting up defensively against Watford, Palace and Wolves is unacceptable.

So tired of this football club and it’s constant disappointments.

This is such anti Levy nonsense. Honestly.

if you think that starting 11 and this squad is up for anything else than pretty poor football and a 7-9th place finish I think it’s a distinct lack of self awareness to be honest. Take a look through the line up again, without Spurs tinted spectacles on and take a look at the subs. Not sure you can make another case if you’re being honest with yourself.

if you ask 10 fans none of them would put a such line-up
Who would you have played under the circumstances then? Tanguy wasn't going to start. Rodon wasn't going to start. The only change I may have made was Gil for Winks and have Dele in the midfield three. But that doesn't do anything to help Skipp coming off an injury midweek.

Laughable.

Only positives I can pick out are I think Lucas looked great first half and certainly our most dangerous player. Emerson I thought started well to be honest. In time he'll be good.

But my word we need better depth. Should have brought on Ndombele/Gil at half time.

We got what we deserved for a terrible performance. However, how was that not a foul on Lucas prior to the Tanganga/Zaha incident? Also Zaha should have seen red. Not defending Japhet either, he was stupid to challenge minutes after a booking.

Nuno has a lot of work to do. The South America debacle, injuries to Son/Bergwin and now Dier have ruined us. Kane looked disinterested the whole game. Saddens me.
I often wonder what would have happened in the CL final if he started as he should have ?
Hindsight isn’t a wondrous thing it dumbfounding.

Half baked.

Every window.

Levy believes we have enough in the squad which simply isn't true as seen today.

As soon as a few are unavailable we are back to relying on Winks, Davies and other really average footballers.

Dele may have improved his effort but he's not a go to player for creativity and control. He can do great stuff in small flashes but you need much more than that.
Yes we may have done better in the window but to say this had anything to do with Levy is wrong. This was to do with the set up. At least play the cards you have as well as possible, or if see it is not working and have chance to swap then bloody take it.

We've had bad luck with injuries and obviously the fuck up surrounding the players in Croatia was not ideal but that line up just lacked any imagination.

We never created anything and worst of all we lacked desire across the pitch. How Gil sat on the bench for the entire game when we were missing Son, Bergwijn and Lo Celso is an absolute mystery.

I dont believe moving Tanganga to CB was a good move because it weakened us in 2 positions. Not ideal to pitch Emerson in for his debut when we have so many missing. Tanganga has been playing well at RB so why change when Rodon can play.

Why he didn't use Gil to replace Son and keep Dele in the midfield 3 baffles me especially when it means Winks had to play which now makes 4 successive coaches who can't grasp that Winks is dogshit.

Some good performances today. Impressed with Emerson, Rodon, Moura. Alli did well. Japhet is a legend already. Kane was shite. Should have put Bryan on. Other than that worst scenario is we are 1 point behind the league leaders after 4 games. COYS!
Granted, he was up against a hungry Zaha, but he was certainly not impressive. Looked clumsy and rash. I won’t judge him on this performance but he was not impressive.

Yes it’s good to see a player with passion, but he was absolutely idiotic in jumping into that tackle and needs to take a look at himself. May not be the sole reason, but a very severe contributor to the result.

Let’s see if you’re this positive when we’re level on points with Arsenal at full time in a couple of weeks at the Emirates.
