This smacks of a get chimbo out campaign. Either that or they want to unsettle Spurs.

I will tell you who will replace him.........absolutely no one. If you seriously think we would sell this unloyal sideshow bob hairstyled arse then u are seriously mistaken. 5.5 million for single seaon - there is no way well will sell him, would have to be serious money for us even to contemplate it.

I hate all this talk of the top 4 - blah blah blah. I cant understand why a player doesnt want to be a 'great player' at a club instead of the media underpinned assumption that they want to move to one of the top 4 placed clubs to become another cog in the machinery. :bang:

Not me I'm afraid  CB or, at a push, striker for me. Stalteri is good enough!

I so, so, so hope this is true

Carrick's "gamble" of moving to a top 4 club as a squad player paid off....

depends who we've got lined up. chimbonda is a very good full back, but if chelski offer us £10million say and there are other good RBs around then i wouldnt be 'gutted'.

IMO it isnt the same as if we were to sell berbs, keane, king, or lennon. for instance is richards is available for £15mill then its not a bad bit of business.

however if we cannot realistically replace chims with someone equally as good then chelski can fuck off.

If he does go then a decent left midfielder is essential for us, then we can do what Wigan did to us and just bombard him and just like against Wigan, he'll fall to pieces

Encourage him forward then exploit the space because he simply NEVER tracks back.

It'll be great to see Leapy ghosting past him at will then sliding it in for Berby to smash it past Cech. Leapy could of course more than handle the attacking "threat" of Chimbonda.

Seriously if it happens, we have to bombard him in our matches against them. If we do, we could take 6 from 6 next season.

Tottenham must be doing something right to keep having players linked to the so called "Top 4" clubs.

Not too many seasons ago our players just reached a ripe old age and got shipped off to places like Bournemouth.

Just proves that DC and BMJ must be doing their jobs right.

I just hope we can keep these players i.e. Berbatov and Chimbonda and keep adding to them but if a player wants to leave for another club then I think it's inevitable he will go (e.g. Carrick). Lets not forget how quick Chimbonda was to jump ship from Wigan at the end of last season. If he see's more pound signs and Champions League football then I think it's in his makeup to decide he wants to leave.

i think chimbonda is shit anyway.

In the first half of the season everyone was saying how well Chimbs was playing. He made some errors in the later stages and as some have said he is sometimes a little slow getting back and sometimes dribbles out of defence when a simple ball will do. But this was his first season for us and he played I guess around 50 matches. I would say he made less critical defensive errors in those 50 matches than Salteri did in his 30-35 matches the previous season. So why should we sell him ? We are building a squad not trying to make a quick buck. We have to have 2 players in every position and so it would make no sense. He should stay at least another season to prove himself.

I hope he stays, he is without question the best fullback weve had in as long as I can recall.

The fact we pushed so hard for him last year and the fact he has played so well and so often, I just cant see him wanting to go - he should love us to bits!

I didn't say stalteris wasn't shit. Besides Stalteri's "mistakes" were more oftern lack of strength or pace not so much technical or lack of effort. Chimdonda's piss poor marking and poor decision making, considering he has far more attributes, makes him worse in my eyes. The fucking disgusting way he stood and watched Toure tap it in, sums him up.

Not everybody friend, not everybody!
He made some errors in the later stages and as some have said he is sometimes a little slow getting back and sometimes dribbles out of defence when a simple ball will do.
The first "error" that he made that cost us goals was way back in September against Liverpool. Since then he has cost us goals in the Carling Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup, in the Carling and UEFA those goals contributed to us being knocked out of the competition, less so in the Carling than UEFA though I have to admit.
But this was his first season for us and he played I guess around 50 matches. I would say he made less critical defensive errors in those 50 matches than Salteri did in his 30-35 matches the previous season.
I would seriously challenge that statement. Stalteri did VERY LITTLE WRONG, he has done absolutely nothing wrong when he has come in this season, he ever kept Robben quiet to such an extent that Robben was taken off.[/quote]
So why should we sell him ? We are building a squad not trying to make a quick buck.
Simple. Making a profit for a 28/29yr old defender who has an allergy to defending so we can play someone who defends with everything they have makes good business sense.
We have to have 2 players in every position and so it would make no sense. He should stay at least another season to prove himself.
You mean until people see him doing the same things over and over again before they finally get the message that he simply won't defend?

Chelsea don't have a decent right back as Keano showed .

Chimbonda would fit straight in , he's canny and if he gets caught out will do anything , however unsporting , to prevent it resulting in a goal .

First half of the season he was great but I got the impression that after Christmas his heart wasn't in it .

Chimbo is a winner but he really winds me up . We should try to keep him just to avoid the disruption but I would not be at all surprised if this happens .

he was playing at shitty bastia (no offence) a few years back and now hes being linked to big old chelski eh?

Sheringham, Campbell, Carrick, Kanoute

all left and won things, but of course there is

Carr, Simon Davies, Ben Thatcher.

I think he is perfect for them, but I very very very much hope he stays, was my player of the season and is the best RB in the Prem and will be for the next 3 or 4 years I imagine

Reams of nonsense

Are you taking the piss? Chimbonda has had an excellent season for us. He and Finnan have been comfortably the best right backs in the Premiership this season. He lost form a little towards the end of the season, but after 55 games I think that's fair enough.
