It's a bit long but please read it and see if you agree with me or not- I can't be the only one thinking this and it's certainly a point for discussion.
While the thread is called "Passion", it is more about the lack of it. Not for a long time have I seen a Spurs side that seems to not give a flying fuck.
You can analyse the manager, the tactics, the substitutions etc. but I can't stop myself thinking that one of the main problems is the fact that the players seem to not care.
It should be an honour for them to play for this club but some of them look like they'd rather be watching Television.
When I think about players who had passion, I always look back to Van der Vaart (just watched some YouTube VDV videos- not a good idea ). Why we sold him I will never know because it was just so fucking stupid and couldn't give a shit if he "wanted" to go back to Germany or not- we should have just told him where to go.
Whenever Rafa scored a goal, he'd go fucking apeshit. He kissed the badge, ran to the fans- FFS he even kissed a pensioner.
We need players that have that desire and hunger and none of the players seem to have it. Do our players even celebrate anymore? They seem to be afraid of our fans at times.
When watching the games since the start of the 12-13 season, I have always thought that the players look bored all the time and they never show a passion to play for our great club.
In the NLD's this season so far- the FUCKING BIGGEST GAMES OF OUR SEASON- I saw zero effort of hunger from the players- you can talk about the managers but if everyone had the hunger that players like VDV had, we could have scored some goals.
Graham Roberts said "The Crest on the front of the shirt will always be bigger than any name on the back."
Nothing could be truer. I want to see the players wear their hear of the sleeve and give absolutely anything for the badge at the front.
If not, they can fuck off. I'd rather have 11 players who were not the best but worked their fucking body off every single match than 11 players who are really good but would rather be chilling in Barbados.
I miss the energy and passion shown a few seasons ago.
Nothing is more important than loving the club you play for.
Rant/Plea over.
