Worth having a look at this football blog to remind yourself of what it was like before footballers were millionaires. Not old enough to remember all the ads on their, but seeing Pat Jennings dressed as an oil filter (number 5) was funny/slightly sad. Imagine how much he'd be on these days.

I want it on record that when I first read this thread title I read it as 'Pat Jennings dressed as an Otter'.

When I took my son to the pre-season friendly against Fiorentina, he took the time to come over to the fans and sign programmes.

Pat Jennings...you are a true legend and true gentleman!!!

When I was a little kid I used to go down to Spurs Lodge every school holiday to meet the players etc at the gate. You could still go round to the top training pitch and watch the sessions over the fence then, and one day Pat (who was 1st team GK coach) at the time asked me and my mate if we would be ball boys for Chris Armstrong, Les Ferdinand, Darren Anderton etc as they did shooting practice.

He even noticed that I had a Cockerel stud in my ear at the time  and said how much he liked it.
The guy is an absolute gent!

Pat is truly an absolute gent. He did autograph signing sessions at my sister's school along with Martin Peters and one other Spur possibly Joe Kinnear they all had daughters at the school. Had time to talk to us kids smashing bloke.
The only thing bad I can think to say about him is that i reached my 20's thinking it was the norm for goalkeepers to catch crosses with one hand!

....and start to throw it to a player before he reached the ground.

Best 'keeper by a mile during my time supporting Spurs (about 1970)
