Lawyer people will know better than me, with regards to the image rights, can't we get a certain amount of this over the line by the deadline and deal with that after considering it doesn't affect his registration? I'm know that's not pragmatic but I'm more curious if we are close to agreeing that aspect whether we can push through.

Yes'm missa Gobshite. Rightio sir (y)

Like I say I'd love to be proven wrong but if you have a 60 million odd player in the final stages of a transfer and you are activley looking to move him on do you let him play a friendly against a bunch of cloggers from the lower leagues?

Very risky and almost no upside for Juventus to do that

I'm a lawyer but not a sports or IP lawyer. But I'm not sure how it could actually stop the transfer, unless there is some sort of FA requirement/regulation that we must have some level of ownership of his rights, for example to promote our club and branded merchandise. I don't know whether there is such a rule.

It's also possible that there is some weird penalty clause in the image rights contract about what happens if he moves, but what knows.

Pretty sure @Stoof posted some info on this earlier.

Yeah I was just curious if we ironed out the rest and all that needed was some minor details whether we could get the registration done and beat the clock, cheers for info(y)

My take on this is that he's keen(ish) but we would only go through with it if Eriksen goes for a good price. I don't believe we would have wasted our time if his wage demands were crazy and/or if we felt a deal couldn't be done

I think it was always a tough one to do, but impossible with Eriksen still around.

Things can change so quickly though, for good or bad. We knew this when this news broke initially, same with the Coutinho news.

All it takes is a positive twitter update from a reliable source and the mood changes again.

He’s a top drawer, world class striker, who Levy needs to throw money at to attract him. Shame they didn’t have time to get him over and give a tour of Hotspur Way and the new stadium followed by dinner with Poch whispering sweet nothings in his ear, whilst the club give his missus the red carpet treatment at the posh boutiques.

I think you're referring to clause 4 in PL contracts that states this, several people have posted about it. Others have mentioned that HMRC have clamped down on how much can go to an image rights company due to it being 20% tax on that income
