To be fair it isn't for free, he's asking for a lot of money.
Making him the new highest earner and then offering Kane a new deal to match could be a nice trick.
He wants £8.4 mil a year, Kane is on £10.4 mil. Personally I don’t think 8.4 is that bad for a player of his quality. In negotiations with Inter he was even willing to go down to £6/7 mil with bonuses .

Maybe we have cooled our interest in Eriksen because we have turned our attention to Dybala. Not exactly the same type of player but both on a free and around the same age. Probably on the same amount of money as well.

Isn’t that 8.4 net? I wonder what Kane is after taxes.

One of the ITKs did say in the summer scouting thread, I think it was, that he didn’t see both Dybala and Eriksen coming in so you could be right.

Paratici tried to sell Dybala to us when he was at Juve.

I really doubt he’ll try and sign him now.
I reckon your very likely right that he won’t come here. But Juve we’re trying to sell him because they were fucked financially due to the Ronaldo deal and Dybala’s contract was running down and they couldn’t afford to renew it. I don’t think it was a case of Paratici not rating him, just business. As said tho, I still think it’s a long shot he comes here at the this point, but I bet he’s pissed with Inter.

That's approximately 40 mil for a 5 year contract. Less if given a 3 year contract. Reasonable as he would cost us nothing as oppose to paying approx. 50 mil to get him in the first place. Very do-able in my opinion.

That long recap of O’Keefe’s Twitter from yesterday in the daily thread suggests the club may be in a position to do just that.
Well... let's see... I would consider doing it for Dybala. But don't think it's that easy. Especially when we are not used to giving top wages to new players... also... as mentioned in another post, he has injury troubles.

Not only that, but Dybala has an abysmal injury record. It's a 'no' for me.
I think his injury record is a bit overexaggerated at times. He started 31 games last season (plus 8 sub appearances). In our squad, only Kane, PEH, Hugo, Sonny, Davies and Dier started more matches in 2021/22.

He had a bad season in 2020/21, missing 21 matches in total due to injury - but that was a big outlier in an otherwise largely injury-free career.

That 2020/21 was a single knee injury as well.

Posted similar in the Lautaro thread, no way they can afford to Lautaro, Dzeko, Correra and then bring in Lukaku (who won’t be cheap for them) AND Dybala. If I’m Dybala I would be getting rather pissed off by this.
Dzeko would be a good shout for us. Elite Kane target man sub

Seems its not just clubs that Inter has messed around, it's players too.

I wonder if this is more public soap opera stuff from Inter and is setting the stage for Lautaro to leave.

I'd be interested in us considering Dybala on a free but I suspect Conte and Paratici won't be keen.

Inter should take our money for Martinez or Bastoni if not both. They can then get on with signings like this.

I think who Inter eventually decide to sell and that being all finalised will be a catalyst for a lot more transfer dealings to then start rolling for a few clubs…us being one no doubt.

I loved Lamela, less so GLC, but do we want another injury prone Argentine, especially one on big money?
