Juve are in for Zaniolo. Would really surprise me if an Italian player joined any other league.

A few conclusions from the last few posts:
1) Dybala was not the right player for us, and I'm glad we didn't go for him - those pining for him and after an unrealistic ideal, not the reality of the player today; and
2) Italian players just really like staying in Italy - much like the English players really. But just look at their national side, it's nearly all domestic players. Always made the likelihood of getting Bastoni low IMO

It’s surprising that he left Juve thinking he had his pick of teams and it’s been far from it.
I might be making this up but didn't he have to lower his wage demands? Fair play to him for being more realistic with his wages instead of fucking off to Saudi Arabia and getting bags.

Jose is building a decent side with Roma, be interesting to see if they can challenge at the top this season.

Really thought someone like PSG or United would've gone for Dybala.

I just find it so weird he will opt for Roma. Disappointed he's not testing himself in other leagues.
He doesn't appear to have the choice to test himself in another league. There has been very little reported interest in him.

Despite a shit squad, Roma had 3rd highest xG (behind Inter & Atalanta) and 4th highest xGA (behind Napoli, Milan, Juventus).

It sucks we missed out on him due to difficulty in clearing out Conte deadwood like Vidal & Alexis Sanchez.

I think he probably settled on a sensible offer to stay in Italy but his guys probably went in really strong looking for a contract abroad.

well yes, looks like the easy route. but he knows the league, certainly the language, might feel he´s settled there well enough and certainly aware of his injury record and it´s Rome - hardly a better place to live and play football, all things considered. can´t blame him.

I hate this stuff. It’s absolutely meaningless

Stats about how many scoring opportunities a team gets, is absolutely meaningless?
Possession stats are absolutely meaningless, as it tells nothing about who was the better team. xG shows how close a team was to scoring goals, which is what the game is about.
