We have reached agreement for the transfer of Roman Pavlyuchenko to Lokomotiv Moscow.

The striker joined us from Spartak Moscow in August 2008 and went on to score 42 goals in 113 appearances.

We thank Roman for his contribution and wish him every success for the future.

I thought those two goals against Birmingham might turn out to be his swansong. Not such a fitting end this time though. At least he's contributed this season, scoring one of the best goals (Rubin Kazan) and what may turn out to be one of the most important (Sunderland).

Thanks for the goals and the laughs Pav, it was time to go but you served us far better than so many would have you believe.
