Short interview with our Pav on his choice in footwear from soccerbible.com:

Roman Pavlyuchenko took a break from trying out his new adidas F50i football boots to sit down with The SoccerBible. Roman discussed football, boot development, and who he thinks is the number one player in the world...

SoccerBible: Obviously you're a fan of adidas football boots, so what's your impression of the new adidas F50i football boots?

Roman Pavlyuchenko: I like the appearance, but it's hard to say what I think about their performance, as I need to train and play in them more. But my first impression is they feel and look great.

SB: Since you started playing has boot technology influenced your game, and have you noticed any advantages in boot development?

RP: Every new boot I get from adidas is more comfortable, which is what I look for in a football boot.

SB: Do you have any personalisation on your boots?

RP: Some of the boots have my family name, some have the name of my wife and my daughter.

SB: We love our football boots, and wonder if you keep any collections at home? If so, do you have a memorable pair?

RP: There are just two pairs I will keep forever, two boots with names, one has the name of my wife and the other the name of my daughter. Some boots I give to children's teams.

SB: Has there been a 'bling boot' rivalry at any of the clubs you've played for?

RP: To me as long as they perform it doesn't matter if they are black, white or red!

SB: Growing up who was your biggest influence, did you have any football icons?

RP: Diego Maradona was my hero as a child.

SB: Who would be your dream strike partner, who would you most like to play alongside from past or present?

RP: I think I've got great partners today, with Keane and Defoe.

SB: Finally, what do you think of fellow adidas F50i football boots wearer Lionel Messi?

RP: As a player I think he is number one.

Pavlyuchenko has enjoyed an indifferent start to his Premier League career, and has overcome a cultural and language barrier. But Roman has allowed his football to do the talking, by scoring 14 goals from adidas F50.9 football boots, and will be hoping to be even more lethal wearing the new adidas F50i football boots.

That's our lethal strike-force for next season, right there. Who's the geezer behind Pav?
