Watched some clips last night , very aggressive, loves a sliding tackle.

If we wanted competition/back up for Romero from the tiny tiny sample I saw he would be perfect.

Sorry for the bump with lack of regards to news

But was looking into him further. As I mentioned, I thought he was really good at Ajax a few seasons ago then he kind of faded out of the limelight to others and was moved on.

I thought his heatmap is really interesting tbh. As you mentioned he very often steps into midfield areas to challenge, showing aggression. He also has evenly played on the RCB, CB, and even has some experience playing on the LCB role as well. Looks like he's very comfortable across those areas and could be a good depth option for either van de Ven, or Romero.

What's his range of passing like anybody?
Passing and composure on the ball is his key strength. He tends to play as the RCB
He's not great with aerial duels but not terrible either.
Was highly rated as a youngster and he's still only 23. Scored a few goals as a youngster as well.

Really sounds like Tapsoda is now unlikely and we are going for either Schuurs or Laporte.

Would be happy with either. As much as Tapsoba is obviously the stand out, we’ve gotta make a move soon and that one has seemingly dropped off.

From Gary Jacob in the Kane article:

Tottenham are ready to step up their interest in Perr Schuurs, if they can offload three unwanted centre backs. After completing the signing of Micky van de Ven for an initial £34 million from Wolfsburg, Tottenham are planning on bringing in a second Dutch defender this month. Torino have valued Schuurs at £28 million after interest from several Premier League clubs. Schuurs, 23, is right-footed but has played as the left-sided centre back during four years at Ajax and Torino.

Anyone know why did he move from Ajax to Torino? Was he not fancied at Ajax or is Torino seen as a good move because they’re in Italy?

Well, good news except we definitely can’t offload those other guys unless we basically give them away. hopefully a loan w/o obligation counts as offloading.

Don’t know why, solely based on nothing, and maybe showing my ignorance in never having heard of him, but this one seems underwhelming to me.
