Got a bit of ITK off a mate who was out drinking with Peter Crouch the other day.

-Looks like he's pretty much definitely going to leave, most probably to Portsmouth or Villa. Newcastle have bid for him as well, and Spurs agreed terms with him in January but he didn't fancy his chances of getting in ahead of Berby or Keane. Thinks he is most likely to go to Portsmouth and that's his preferred choice, but nothing concrete has happened yet so all parties are playing it by ear. He apparently likes the idea of playing for Portsmouth to be alongside Defoe, who he apparently wouldn't shut up about. Reckons he's the best finisher he's ever seen.

-Loves it at Liverpool, says the club and everything about it is top notch - just hates not playing regularly and doesn't think that situation will change any time soon. Rates Benitez as a manager and a guy, but doesn't think Benitez will ever see him as anything other than a squad player. Interestingly he says that Torres isn't particularly popular at the club - respected for what he's done this season but apparently he moans whenever things don't go his way and if he disagrees with a decision by Benitez regarding him (subbing or being rested basically) he just ignores everyone for a couple of days and generally comes across like a bit of a baby (Crouch's words).

Also, my mate says that Crouchy is a top bloke and is even more ridiculously tall in the flesh. And also Crouchy said the nachos story isn't true

Nice one. Cheers for sharing, DIsco.

One of my mates met him while he was at Saints and said he was a funny/top bloke, too. Hope he finds a good club as he's actually a very decent player.

Oh also he said that if QPR ever come back up to the Premiership with all the money they've got now, he'd love to play for them again - his family still live local (Greenford) and he loves the club.

I really hope Pompey don't sign him and SWP (rumours he's going to Pompey also). If they do they are going to have an incredibly well balanced side. Defoe will relish playing off Crouch. Diarra, Muntari, SWP and Krancjar between them offer a great balance of quality, speed and aggression. If they have luck with injuries they could be a serious threat to us.

It'll be Pompey's defence that will be the achilles heel. Campbell and Distin, although solid, will be one year older and slower.

He even donated his signing on fee when left QPR to help them out financially when they didn't have 3 billionaires financing them.

Top fella!

Yeah, they'll be a bit scary.

And supposedly they are after Vieira, just to give them a bit more experience and leadership.

I think Crouch & Defoe would be a perfect partnership but Redknapp doesn't have the bollocks to play 442 very often, if he did Portsmouth could have achieved more than they did in the league this year. Redknapp has a good eye for a player - pretty obvious ones it has to be said - I imagine he's a pretty good motivator, but is a cowardly tactical bafoon. He somehow manages to get a very talented midfield and strikers to play the most turgidly boringly defensive football, even at home.

I'll be disapointed if Crouch goes to Pompey but better there than Newcastle or Villa where both managers have some kahooners and will play to his strengths.

I wouldn't even mind him at spurs to be honest.

I reckon ol' Arry is thinking he wouldnt mind having a crack in Europe next year so is trying very hard to build a team capable next year...

Has he ever done 'Europe' before?
