Just saw this on SSN from today's Mirror

PETER CROUCH: Tottenham from Liverpool. Still scoring goals for the Reds but Crouch wants regular first-team football and Benitez can't give that to him.

Surely we couldn't offer him first team football either...unless something dramatic and awful happens with a certain Bulgarian.

he actually used to play for spurs he came through the ranks but i wouldnt mind seeing him back at the lane although theres no way we can guarantee anyone first team football as you have to fight for your place in a team and we have to much class up front to have all of our players

apparently Jol's a big fan of Crouch so this may have some legs if defoe leaves. A lot of ITKs have mentioned big Martin's like for the tall one. He'd be good backup for Berba and great insurance for us not doing well enough to keep the Bulgarian next summer. He's not pretty to watch but I quite like Crouch, he can drive some normally good defenders batty.

Ahh, the Mirror - one of so many who just print it without even thinking for a second that it makes no sense at all.

Besides, we had him once when he was but a strip of a lamp-post, but we let him go. As said, he won't come to us if it's 1st team action he's after, but with his performance against Toulouse and his amazing goal scoring record in Europe, i doubt it'll be hard to find a starting place elsewhere.

Man U anyone?

So he wants to leave Pool for regular first team action and then come to us for just backup role and we even aren't in CL

Benitez will have sat Crouch down (on the floor while he was on a stool) to tell him what Jol should be telling Defoe - that they are going to be involved in 60+ matches this season if all goes according to plan. Crouch will get upwards of thirty starts which should appease any pro as it means they'll be fresh each game and raring to impress.

if we sell berbs and buy crouch im done with football for a while, crouch isnt top class so would have to go to a midtable team for regular football.

13 appearances, 7 goals in Europe this year for them - that's not bad at all, but league wise, 31 app's, 9 goals. Doesn't specify how many of them were off the bench, but it's obvious where his height cause most problems...

Any team struggling to achieve in Europe, despite having a reasonable squad, i would expect could be interested

That, Mr A&C, is blatantly spamming - you should be ashamed of yourself setting a bad example to the troops.
