I'd like to congratulate the big man on his start for Spurs. The work he put in against Wigan was fantastic, and I just have a sneaky feeling that he'll have played a big role in any top 4 finish, should we achieve our goal and get it.

People praise Robbie for his attitude, and rightly so, and Crouchy seems to be cut from the same cloth. He's put in a heck of a lot of work to improve his game over the last 3 or 4 years, and he seems like the kind of guy you'd want in your dressing room; bubbley, enthusiastic, and a winner.

Aside from our absolute thumping of Wigan, one result that comes to mind when you think of recent demolition jobs is Liverpool's 8-0 win over Besitkas.

I agree, Crouch always comes across as a great character. I remember last season when Portsmouth looked ot be in trouble he really stepped up and played a huge part in helping to keep them safe.

Only 8? Pffft...

What would Liverpool fans give for the return of Keane and Crouch. Throw in Defoe aswell and they'd be wetting themselves on the spot.

Living and working where I do Dougal near Liverpool. With mrs mattyspurs being a Liverpool fan and employing several. I take great pleasure in rubbing it in there faces about those two players. And they are genuinely gutted that they were sold.

Oh well there loss and all that

Yep - plaudits to the big man.

Seems to have slipped into the club like he totally belongs.

I hate to get serious, but I think part of it is that the Big Yin actually some adversity to fight against. Periodically I point out how scandalsous that anyone could tell him he was too tall to be a footballer when he was a kid, and that it just wouldn't be accepted to tell a more diminuitive player that he was too short to be a footballer. Crouchie has had to fight that for years. I say, fair play to him:up:

not worrying myself with liverpool too much but benitez's stubborness seems to cloud his decsion making.
I always thought that Crouch performed ok for Liverpool and yet he still didnt play him that often, Keane he lost for the same sort of reason. I'm surprised Benayoun is still there as He always seemed to be undervalued by RB.

Oh well, liverpool's loss is our gain...

People used to quote his header winning stat an awful lot before we signed him. And I said then, shouldn't we be looking at how many of those headers actually make it to our players. One criticism I have, of his game, is that a lot of the headers he wins simply go back straight to the opposition. It somewhat defeats the point of him being there.

My best mate absolutely hates Crouch, can't for one minute see why. Really happy we signed him, we've had a few teething problems with him and I reckon we'll have a few more but I can see him playing a big part in our season.

All in all I'm delighted with our strikeforce, and that includes Pav.

I'm glad we have him and I think he's a good signing, but up until Wigan I have been a bit underwhelmed.

He's not had a run of games, fair enough, but I expected a little more I must admit.

Still, he is getting better and yes, he will play a big role in any top 4 finish we have because if we didn't have him we'd have Pav as our only tall option, and lets face it, Pav doesn't play like a 6ft2 striker at all.

that's a bit harsh considering Wigan was the first prem game we didn't lump the ball up to him at every given opportunity. el crouch is ''ok'' in the air, and good when we play on the deck. it's been slow, but our players are getting to understand his strengths and weaknesses. the more he plays in the best 11's, and not silly teams that accomodate players, or systems that poorly mirror the opponents with inferior/poorly instructed key personnel (fully licensed attacking and willing/instructed FBs) when we should be setting our stall out with our naturally best set-up, the better and better things will be for crouch and spurs.

not saying he should play every minute of every game though..

wigan were fucking shocking in defence, as were probably besiktas, but nevermind.

the difference between last season and this season is really heartwarming. whereas before we had bent, totally the wrong player, at the wrong club, with prob the wrong attitude ( i mean did he EVER look as hungry for us as he has done at times this season?) , we've now actually got a real player on our hands, got a bit of a brain about him, looks like a spurs kind of player.

even through some of the shit we have churned out this season, the difference from last year is remarkable, we can see the gelling, albeit slow sometimes sideways, we can see - the theory is sound, how we should be playing.. all the ingredients are there

a breath of fresh air, honestly
