What exactly is a ‘Levy Special’? I’ve heard this so many times in relation to last minute deals but bar VDV as you’ve said I’ve seen nothing to suggest why he should be renowned for this.
Levy loves a surprise last minute deal more than any other chairman, hence the "Levy Special".

However, as you correctly state, that doesn't mean the signings are good nor that he actually pulls them off - simply that he loves at least trying to pull the rabbit from the hat and make an eye catching last minute move in the market.

- We nicked Sissoko from Everton last minute when we'd barely been linked most of the window.
- We nicked Dempsey from Liverpool last minute when we'd barely been linked most of the window.
- VDV - nuff said.
- He once famously tried to buy every single striker in Spain in a mad supermarket sweep on the last day of the window.

There have been countless other 'almost' deals and late chases that Levy has tried to swindle through with minutes left on the clock. He can't get enough of it.

Yet again as time ticks our chairman's inability to get deals over the line is going to bite us. What is it 2 completed signings in 3 transfer windows so far. Will cost us our best manager in over 50 years imo I'd be surprised if he stays behind Christmas. Poch said the club needed to act differently and that we needed change well Levy certainly hasn't delivered that so far. I honestly reckon it will be sess in and then eriksen out after the transfer windows shuts.

Edit: not directed at you by the way...just wondering why people still say this?

This. VDV is the only one and he’s lived off it for years

Why do a bunch of you think that Poch is that petulant?

Take a look at what he's working with and tell me who else is working with better? Pep, backed by dodgy sponsorship, and pretty much no one else.

The way you bang on about it, you'd expect that he was managing Crystal Palace.

Nicked Saha and Nelsen from Real Madrid last minute when we'd barely been linked most of the window too.

The biggest problem with Coutinho will be that Barca needs him for the transfer of Neymar. They can't afford to outright buy him, so they have to include players and Coutinho is their most valuable asset that they would also be happy to leave. As their window is closing later than ours, I unfortunatly can't see this happening, as the standoff between PSG and Barca will go down the line.

If there's anything in this it would need to hit the media pretty soon

Just can’t see it at all, as great as it would be.

BF as Sess will be the two I’d imagine.

Makes a lot of sense to mer. Coutinho is much more adept playing in wide positions then Eriksen (assuming he is now certain to leave) and this would allow Alli to play more regularly in the no10 role he was so good at in his second season.

I had read Barcelona were looking to recoup over £100m on him and assumed this was well out of our reach but if the price has dropped he would be a fantastic signing and a player already used to the EPL.

"If you don’t know whats happening or actually believe the media or social media then with nothing apparently happening then everyone starts filling in the gaps themselves or writes these types of tweets ?
Save your anger or energy as it’s completely futile what you are doing xx"

Not sure if it means much, but JJ has recently liked his own tweet from the week before we signed Ndombele. Maybe more is going on than most of us think?

Thanks @Mandy Dingle
