I would normally say there isn't a chance we could get him but as others have pointed out Levy has very thin skin and knows that Porro and a loan deal for danjuma is not going to be enough to silence the Enic / levy out chants so maybe this is more than just the almost annual "we tried" move
I don't think he is I think he is blind to the fact. He be patting himself on the back to 11pm tonight thinking Porro will be enough to pacify the fans.
Wouldn't be surprised if he gave the office staff a half day as he knows business is done!
Only my opinion.

How is POK connected?

I mean he said during the Porro deal that Spurs didn’t know the contract buyout was only 2 weeks which didn’t make sense as surely Porro or his agent would have told Spurs. He now says Hincapie is £80m but that would be a big no no. Is he connected or is this just a guy spouting opinions that people think is from source knowledge. Is this just fans confusing opinions with inside information.

As it stands I would say it's less likely than likely that we get this done. It's not out of the question and negotiations are ongoing.

Only my opinion based on the snippets I've been given so who knows.

Would love for it to happen and like I said, we are 100% still trying so let's see how it goes.

Pretty dismal if we only manage Porro today.

Danjuma alone and the window is a 2. With Porro it becomes a 6 and Gil's loan knocks off 0.5 for me if we don't replace his skillset in the side.

5.5 / 10 . Not exactly what we needed to build an assault on the top 4 and convince Conte to put pen to paper.

I think he has some sort of contact, but whether its as solid as our boys here I'm very doubtful. I believe what he shares is more opinion than information tbh.

And plays as a CB in a back 4 usually for Ecuador. He's played everywhere. No idea how well though...

Haven't watched him much but it's hard to judge just going off WhoScored and FBref data.

Seems like he's an aggressive defender that tackles a lot. However his match scores for the season are in the 6.5-7/10 range overall. However - he commits a lot of fouls, has gotten two red cards and Leverkusen has been a big mixed bag this season currently sitting in 9th.

So I can take green and red flags out of this. Are we looking to match Romero on the other side? Us pressing and tackling higher up could be a benefit for us, but also a high risk/reward strategy. Others have said we're already making mistakes, why not get in a young aggressive defender that can at least provide some upside in that regards.

Hincapie played LB last game, if they are trying transfers for that position then I reckon something is at least attempted

I just think expectations are far too high, it’s January. Chelsea have changed it a little, but any starter you get normally is a positive. Look round at arsenal picking up scraps, one at Liverpool, one at Newcastle, nothing at Utd/city.

Maybe make that a 5.7 for the Spence and Doherty loans?

Plus 0.01 for Soonsup-Bell?

But -0.00065 for the initial embarrassment of the Porro collapse.

That's their problem then isn't it?

I still would be amazed they sold him last day of the window without a loan back after saying he wasn't leaving this window. Well unless we overpay. Still, great if it happens if he is the one we want most.

Of course some would most probably want more, i do.

But Danjuma and hopefully Porro could well transform our game.

Both players capable of beating a man and putting the opposition on the back foot.

Far too often we've witnessed stagnated, sideways, lack of desire football.

That cameo from Danjuma the other day showed exactly what we've been missing, a player constantly moving, looking for the ball, prepared to be brave, desire.

You add Porro, and i'm certainly happy with the quality of the two players we would've signed.

All too often we've secured mediocre at best. I don't think so this time, here's hoping anyway.

On the trying to get him on loan. I haven't read the whole thread but with Porro, deki, danjuma, & lenglet on loan that's our max. So either purchasing deki ornwe just can't loan hincapie

Not ideal but I could live with a loan back we would know that with him and Udogie our left side would be sorted for next season.

Surely this would have to hit the media sometime very soon if anything was happening…..
id imagine, it would have already or at least murmurings. but all the reputable spurs based journos, ally g, dan kp etc think we're done.

His aerial stats are a massive red flag for playing CB in a back 4.

Hincapie 49% win rate
Dier 64.9% win rate
Romero 69.2% win rate
Ndicka 62% win rate
Gvardiol 57.7% win rate
Bastoni 71.4% win rate

Not bothered about the volume of aerial duels, it's the win percentage that concerns me. This wouldn't be too bad in a back 3 (Davies for example has a similar win rate to Hincapie) but if we played him as a CB in a back 4 it would be a huge issue.

So I'd rather pursue someone we believe can play comfortably in a back 4 shape too, should Conte leave in the summer.
