Lennon has got quite a few tricks up his sleeve and is starting to show what a talent he really is. Best player on the pitch along with Young. 8.5 and MOTM.

Palacios disappointed me as he gave the ball away far too many times in the 2nd half, 1 of which led to the goal. And what was with his 1st touch yesterday? It was awful! 5

King and Woodgate were outstanding, as was Corluka when he came on as Young rarely threatened once he was introduced. All 3 get an 8.

Bent played well and deserved the goal and i think Keane works well with him. So both 7.5.

The rest get a 7 because they all worked hard and showed why they are in Harry Redknapp's 1st team, without being spectacular.

I'd go with Chimbo's grades. Special mention to BAE, few silly passes sure, but every time there seemed to be 50 50 ball with Villa player, he managed to outpace him in no time.

Woody and King - Class
BAE - Looked very good, didnt put a foot wrong (if he plays like that reguarly he'd be good)
Lennon - Class
Mod - I thought he struggled to have an impact but not his fault, villa swammed on him
Palacios - Was cack, his defending was aweful as was his passing
Jenas - Passing was aweful but hedoes so much that gets missed, tracking dangerous runs and mopping up, overall a good game
Bent - thought he did well
Keane - did well
Corluka - Looked after young well
Zokora - was too far away from young, should have stopped him getting the ball like corluka did.

im only telling you what the assistant managers son told me over 2 years ago , jenas has signed a new deal since then and the clause may/may not be in it. (fcuk me , i wish he never said anything to me now )

I simply cannot believe that there is (or ever was) a "must play if fit clause" in Jenas's contract.

I am sure your friend told you this in good faith (as you continue to tell us in his place), but it sounds like he mistook some reference to Jenas being signed as a first team player as a clause stipulating he must be played if he is fit. Of course any player would love such a clause. That doesn't mean the club would agree to it.

Your over-the-top and irrational criticism of one of our club's most important players is, to say the least, bizarre. We currently have one of the best squad's (and I don't mean team) we have had for a long time, and not one of the squad deserves to be called the worst player to ever wear a spurs shirt.

I think people are missing the point about Pallacios, he is what people have been screaming for over the last three years, a good defensive midfield, it's no coincidence that evrything Villa tried yesterday had to go down the wings it was because with Pallacios there in front of Woody & King there was no way through the middle. I know they play down the wings but yesterday the middle was a completely closed option for them.

What Pallacios does and does bloody well is allows Jenas Modric the scope to go forward although he even gets forward as well, I don't understand this "uncomfortable on the ball" claim, he is very comfortable on the ball and don't forget that we were playing Villa yesterday who's midfield is known for it's workrate.
Well said, have some rep!

Gomes - 8

Zokora - 5
Woodgate - 8
King - 9
BAE - 8

Lennon - 8.5
Palacios - 6
Jenas - 8
Modric - 7

Keane - 7
Bent - 7

The only comment I would make is most posters unwillingness to acknowledge BAE and give him the credit he deserves. It seems that they begrudge giving him a good score, marking him down and talking about poor passing, as if all are not as guilty at one time or another. His primary job is to defend which he does, well, especially in our current backline when it includes King.

If BAE was an unknown factor playing for the current MAN Utd team on current form, we would be raving about him and wishing him to come to the Spurs. We should be more appreciative of who we have playing for us.

I think BAE is playing excellent too.

The way he spots a pass sometimes that we don't see from the stands or TV.
Also his technique of passing along the ground, good firm passes, rolling across the grass. No dodgy passes to chest height hard to control.
Very good player...hope he stays

BAE is quality especially when you consider that he has nobody in front of him most of the time. Quick strong and a very good tackler, what I particularly like about him is the way he is able to dummy the attacker and just flick the ball over their challenge and come away calmly with the ball.

I think the only thing that puts him behind Clichey, Cashley and Evra is that he doesn't get forward as well and that is mainly because we have no left side and the occasional bit of casual play. When he does get forward he has a great cross. He is a top, top player and we would have to search long and hard to find a better left-back.

Just think how far hes has come since he was arse-raped by Stevie G at Anfiield a couple of seasons ago! I reckon that given time him and Bale could be awesome on the left.

Gomes took a few catches today but then punched a ball that was easier to catch, why does he do that?

I reckon the thinking behind Zokora playing instead of Corluka was that his pace would be better used against Ashley Young, however as it panned out and following the goal the Villa had to press us which meant that they weren't hitting us on the break.
What that meant was that Zokora had Young taking him on face to face and getting crosses in and that is not Zokora's strong point it is where Corluka comes into his own, I think Harry Redknapp saw that and changed it, good decision.

Terrific result today, Villa Away, never really looked troubled at all, we really should be looking up now, lets go for 7th.

Thats a fair tactical comment Worcester.
