There's always the possibility that Prichard wanted to go out on loan as he wanted to get some regular PL football and didn't see that happening with us this season.

I read somewhere on the www.
Pulis saying something along the lines of "We don't want to rush him back and aggravate his injury again. THFC wouldn't be happy if we returned him for treatment."
But he didn't say if/when he would get game time. So it's an odd loan in my mind .

Sometimes I wonder if clubs do this with players who are getting frustrated with being involved with the youth set up to show them the grass isn't always greener.

Going to a different club with facilities that aren't so good, without your mates, with others who are generally on less money and pissed off including an aggressive and vocal croud and still not getting a game.

You can bet your bottom dollar that anyone who escapes that and comes back to the loving bosom of Spurs would work twice as hard to try and make it here.

I simply don't agree. I think he's been exceptionally good for us all season, and one of the reasons we are where we are.

Agreed. I think Eriksen has had a fantastic season, and has been a major contributor to the much improved connection between midfield and attack this season. Yeah, maybe some of end product attempts haven't come off, but he is the one who keeps us ticking and the ball moving.

If that is correct then it would have been a daft move by us to loan player who was not 100% healed or recovered. It would have made more sense for him to stay home to recover properly where he could be nurtured and monitored. Just doesn't make sense.

What did Pritchard do? Your suggestion sounds like some kind of punishment

Is there a person on our staff who is responsible for loanees who monitor their progress etc? And shouldn't there be some clause where the loaned player is guaranteed X amount of games?

If it is "yes" to both questions then surely the person in charge should get Pritchard home as WBA would have negated on the deal by not playing him.

If he's not ready then how come he's been on the bench for every game since he went there?

I'm not saying about Pritchard specifically but just a general comment.

I'm sure there are several people who monitor the loan progress of all the players, including Poch himself.

As for the guaranteed games clause, that's optional, in fact I would guess that a very small minority of loans include mandated game counts. Most receiving clubs tend to be very averse to those, as I've seen several attempted loan deals break down over loaning clubs making these wishes.

I'd love to see more academy lads come through but I'm not sure what he's done to warrant so much trust. He's played two games for us but he would've been pushing Eriksen in the team? Come on now. I'd suggest that Poch is a better judge of talent than we are and if he could've helped us this season, we would've kept him.

During his loan at Swindon (2013-14) he was runner up for League One Player of the Year (ahead of Dele Alli) and when he was on loan at Brentford he was in the Team of the Year and won Brentford's Player of the Season award.

That's why people have trust in his ability.

And they've, you know, watched him play..... :p

He's good enough.

I think Poch sent him out to get match fit, I don't think it's a question of if he's good enough he is but he needs a run of games 1st.

But really anyone who had doubts needs to watch this boy play football, he's a superb talent and he'd fit perfectly in the Pochettino philosophy. He's one of those players who would come into the team and instantly start well.

Guys you need to settle down, loaning him to a PL team is great because it's a PL team. He will improve as if by magic.

Right @Blake Griffin ?

Would it be the case that we wanted Pritchard to become accustomed to the Premier League, not just in games, but in the general experience.

If he's being eased back, you would imagine, with our training being apparently so rigerous, the thinking in letting him go out on loan, maybe even when not fully match fit for us, that he was possibly much more able to play a full first team squad role with West Brom - full training, full match-day experience, even the odd half hour run out that, lets face it, with the amount of time it takes to get our players up to speed in our high pressing system, Pritchard just simply wouldn't have had the opportunity to get this season.

Just a thought. I'm sure he'll play a role for us next year.
