This move would completely sum up our scattergun approach to recruitment and why we struggle so much.

Zaniolo, Trossard, Danjuma. 3 completely different types of player.

1 AM who plays mainly from the right and is left footed.

1 LAM or CAM who is right footed.

1 FWD who can play from the left and is right footed.
Crazy isn't it. The fact its so last minute as well doesn't make it look like he was a Conte target ether. Like him or not, its been pretty clear for two windows now Conte loves Zaniolo and wanted him top of the list. Danjuma is a decent player, he's not bad at all and he had a good season last season mostly playing CF although he did play RW as well. The one thing he isn't is an AM or someone who could play there or CM. This has Levy last minute opportunistic buy all over him. Absolutely crazy way to do business.

Imagine being a Everton fan now...Rejected by Bielsa in morning. And Danjuma running away after doing his medical, Willian style.

This feels like a strange transfer, usually like most id be taking great joy in pulling another clubs pants down for a signing. But as it stands i don't understand our choice of targets. I suppose he's a Moura replacement but im not sure how that really affects anything but the bench. Watching us this season, we're crying out for decent CB's, GK and wingbacks.

Buy option might be included according to Fab

I wouldn't be against this move. He's a powerful runner and has that Conte profile for an attacker, physical and can take a man with goal threat, similar in style to lautaro martinez.

If it means we don't get Zaniolo in, then I'm not for it as it shows we aren't backing Conte properly.

However if it's both in, which is a pipe dream atm, then that wouldn't be such a bad move overall.

Little risk if loan deal, as long as conte gets what he wants not bothered at all, after all, everyone always complaining how weak our bench is attacking wise...

Let Lucas leave now if has an offer he likes, Gil on a good loan ... and bring in Zaniolo AND Danjuma as rotation then yes, decent outcome on paper. But only if it is what Conte has approved and wanted.

It's the kind of strength and depth in those positions that everyone has been crying out for.

Danjuma actually makes alot of sense as he's rapid, scores goals and plays off the left. With Son not firing at all this season we need that competition.

Mad how everyone is in full rage mode when we have zero information that we are still not trying for Zaniolo.
Exactly. Plus we need a left winger anyway. Richarlison is more of a 9 imo and Son is really struggling and looks to be on way down. Buy option is perfect, if he explodes for us then great and if not no worries he can go back to Spain.

We lacked a right wing back in the summer , got someone in who Conte didn't really want and you saw the outcome.

Forget your opinion on the player because he could be Mbappe but if the manager won't play him and will likely throw a tantrum about him being here what's the point?

This is what happens over and over again which is why people are getting worked up about it.
It’s a loan and no one knows what else we will or won’t do on top of this. It’s not like we are blowing our load on this guy, there’s no fee, he’s a CL proven quality player at his best, we’re just covering his wages for 6 months. We need this window to end sharpish because the drama in this section of the site is getting mental

So when we can't get our first choice players we shouldn't sign anyone in that position at all? Are you Poch?

What if LW wasn't seen as a priority initially, but because Son isn't showing any signs of finding form, we've decided to make a move for an LW anyway? If it's a six months loan as suggested, the downsides to this are minimal.
There's been no indication that Zaniolo has turned us down or that there's reluctance from Roma to sell. The only reason we don't get our first choice is because we don't care to spend the money to get it done.

I had no idea he was on the market before Ornstein's tweet but I like this. Good player and a non-committal loan is a decent deal for us.

It's not exciting but why does everyone assume already he's a bad signing and done without Conte aproving?

I think because Zaniolo has been said to be number one target for FP and AC from Summer until now.

Danjuma has flown over two weeks ago trying to find and move with his agent, why didn't we act a week ago?

It screams of Zaniolo becoming too difficult or someone's not convinced, and this a short term fix for the squad. We were told that we're looking for a left-footed RWF competition. Maybe that's changed since Gil has become involved, but just seems like this deal, if we really wanted it, would have been done weeks ago - and now is done in more of a panic situation.

I'm not even sitting here saying Danjuma is a bad player, a year ago many in here were saying how did us (and other PL sides) let him get to Villareal so easily. I just want Conte to be backed, so I hope that he's signed off on this, and doesn't become another club decision where he just sits the bench for 6 months.

God so tiring that this also turns into a Levy out thread with more posts being about Daniel Levy rather than Danjuma.

Just looking at the first page of threads we have the following:

- Tottenham Takeover Talk
- Enic - The Poll
- Tottenham Chief Daniel Levy slaps prince on Qatar takeover
- The ousting of Daniel Levy

Maybe you can air your feelings about Levy there and we can discuss the pros and cons of the actual player in this thread?

To be fair he does profile as a Conte player: Tall versatile winger, loves taking on a man 1v1 off the dribble. Was one of the best attackers in La Liga last season. Unfortunately Son in his age 30 season has consistently been one of our worst performing players. Don't think it is crazy to make an opportunistic swoop for a player who has shown potential at that position. Hopefully Conte not opposed.
