Seeing a lot of talk about this being an out of the blue panic buy with little planning.

While it might be true that he fell into our laps somewhat and it was an opportunistic buy rather than an primary target, I think it’s worth remembering that for the last three or four windows, we’ve been trying to buy a fast tricky/physical wing/forward. Traore, Diaz, Raphinia, etc. it’s clearly a type of player that Paratici at least has consistently been targeting. Someone who can cause defenders problems and take on their man at pace.

He definitely adds something we don’t really have.
I think these sort of deals are judged in retrospect. If he does well it was an astute and clever signing but if it doesn't then Levy is tight and lacks ambition.

Hello! Silly question to smart people who have actually seen him play. Most of the compilations only show him shooting hard and low. In taking penalties this seems even more intentional.

Is this just a quirk of the goals he happened to score last season or does he really only, or mostly anyway, use this technique?

You would hope so considering English is the official language of Nigeria (though worth noting that Nigeria has many languages and English is not always Nigerians first language it is the official language of the country. 86% of Nigerians speak it, for 20% it's their first language), it's likely he has been speaking English throughout his life and it's not inconceivable that he would consider English his mother tongue.

Even if not the case, being raised in the Netherlands practically guarantees a high level of English.
He also lived in Engand for 2/3 years in Bournemouth

Good interview, hopefully that confidence translates itself on to the pitch. Character wise, I guess we shouldn't overlook that he was up for a relegation battle by joining Everton, so hopefully he's got a bit of fight in him to go with the pace and skill.

Surprised Emery did not want him at Villa ?
Maybe he did? They said a few clubs were interested. Not sure why he initially chose Everton.

Perhaps he saw all the clubs as a shop window opportunity. Most aren't at our level, with all due respect to Bournemouth, Everton, Villa, etc...

Strange one that, as most systems need decent wingers / wide forwards.
True, but I think they have a few that are doing well. So whilst they weren't pushing Danjuma out the door he was open to leave.
Plus likely just different manager so different vibe and all that. With Emery gone just the right time for a change and all that.

There'll be a price for the option. Otherwise it's basically a right of first refusal and not an option to buy.
I had read there wasn’t an option in initial reports, but now see there is one after all. So that’s good!

Tbf I’m pretty sure it’s the same on here. Loads of people wanted him last season when he was tearing it up and now because his stock has fallen under a new manager he’s terrible
Can someone point me to all these posts saying he's rubbish, because barring literally one or two posts out of hundreds I haven't seen any.?‍♂️
