This must be short odds if Kane goes?
I would like to think not but unless we sell/loan/leave out of the squad some of our non-homegrown players (and I have already discounted the likes of Reg and Ndombele) we have to buy homegrown players. If we keep the squad as has been stated by many on here in other threads. We have 23 players over 21 and only space for two homegrowns only. Take H out of the squad and we need three. So who of the other non-homegrowns are you going to sell? Or who of the heavily overpriced homegrowns are we going to buy? It’s a total cluster ####

Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson is another player Spurs like, though he would predominantly be bought to compete with Kulusevski for a spot on the right wing. Tottenham consider this a bit of a gap in their squad and so may well have pursued a deal even if Kane had stayed (on Friday Postecoglou claimed Kane leaving “doesn’t change things dramatically”), especially with Bryan Gilinjured and it not being clear yet whether he’s at the required level. Nothing has been agreed regarding Johnson at this point and Spurs will likely try to include one of their many unwanted squad players as a makeweight in any deal.

To be fair though if a Forest player played a blinder against Arsenal we probably shouldn't be too excited either given our history of that scenario

Please no. I'm off to convince myself it's a smokescreen for a quality player/talent.

If we spend the same or more on Johnson than City are spending on Doku I will cry.
