It’s a little weird being called Brennan most of my life (my last name) and now seeing that name all over SC for the first time.

The part about not being as good at football as everyone would like is very familiar though…

mine too

If he wants to come. His brother never left bilbao, perhaps he wants to stay.
Johnson was involved in more goals than Nico Williams a year all while playing for a worse team in a tougher league than Nico Williams. So what makes you think Nico Williams would be more successful than Johnson?

Not to be too negative, but in the space of only a year that would be one incredible drop off in standard for our front three.
I do think that’s too negative. Much too negative.

1) two of the three players are still there and available! So it’s not like they’ve been sold
2) we’re playing a different style of football, that will likely benefit different types of players
3) if this happens, it’ll be because these players are thriving. Deki and Son have just as much chance to prove themselves as well
4) they’re all good players IMO

So I would see it as positive

The hate and narrow minded opinions of this kid are quite arrogant and unbelievable . If he’s the player Wngw wants and thinks can work well with his system then let’s back him .

the kid did pretty well in a shit team last season in his 1st season in the premier league .

what’s not to say that surrounded by better players he won’t become a very good player . He only 22 for 🤦‍♂️

Will be typical Spurs to blow £40-50m on a player who doesn’t quite fit and isn’t at the level we need, in a key position. If we get the recruitment right out wide, our ceiling as a team will explode.

If we sign Johnson then imo we will still be looking for a winger in January or the summer once we realise he isn’t good enough. Except we probably won’t have the budget because we’d have blown £40-50m on Johnson.

Who's to say Ange can't coach him and is happy with the attributes he has to coach with?

I don't know, just feels like everybody is an expert on here.

I'm not. I was just stating that there may be other reasons as to why Jackson is unobtainable

What about next year when he does have to be registered? We can’t keep saving up problems like that for tomorrow. There has to be a rebalancing of the home grown players in the squad.
How many players are in the last year of their contracts?

I had a little bit of a lightbulb moment a minute ago. Could he be for Ange what Lamela was for Poch? A very hard working RW who maybe doesn’t get off the charts level of goals and assists but makes up for that with his off the ball work and team play? I could actually see it to be fair
But for £50m?

But for £50m?
Who says thats the price?

Funny how everyone jumps on the chance to sign random talented wingers from the Danish league they have never watched but are so much against signing a HG kid who had his breakthrough in the PL. I get that he does not sound to have the 100% fitting profile but I think if he would score 15 goals in Belgium or Denmark and we only have little Highlight clips people would be all up for this at any price.

Of the home grown options to improve the team he’s one of the better ones out there - Forest would say he’s their best player, wouldn’t they?

Positives are, he plays quickly / has a bit of pace. Can see why he’d work for Ange.

Negatives - not THAT technical. A bit lightweight (but can buy fouls).

I can see him providing cover for Richarlison until we move for Toney in Jan. That’d be classic Levy.

Yeah I wouldn’t pay that. Honestly it just looks like this might happen and I’m trying to talk myself into something positive to look at. He is decent and HG but I’m not sure he’s what we need. I’d rather we go HG elsewhere and bring in a top quality foreign winger

Because that was the figure being quoted earlier in the thread from memory. I don’t know what you are trying to say with the rest of your post as it has nothing to do with what I said.
So what do you think he is worth?

Cover for Richarlison? Hmm. I think he may be more than that if Richi doesn't impress soon.

I don't agree with that
1) I see him as covering (first team or bench) the wing positions sooner than #9
2) I can't see us going for Toney

Moreover, I want us to steer clear of Toney - not the right character, likely very expensive and just not really quite good enough IMO

I don't know what he is worth. But I also read 30-40m or cash plus player deals. 50m is probably what Forest want, not what they get. I would need to see the club financials and know about the alternatives to be able to judge if 30m, 40m or 50m are fine.
My feeling is if we pay 20m + Spence and Sanchez, or 25-30m + one player its a good deal to do. Heck, try and throw Gil in as a loan.

Wow. Not for me. If we have that sort of money it needs spending elsewhere.
