I’m not really sure why people dislike Johnson so much. He isn’t the flashiest player but he’s very effective. He’s a solid rapid, strong has good technique striking a ball and at his age I think he makes a lot of good decisions in the box.

Obviously not the finished article and I think the money is too much but I think he’d be a great addition to the squad and really offer us something different to Deki.

Still confused as to why we didn't go for Alex Scott if we are that concerned about HG numbers.
Because he wanted to go somewhere with guaranteed minutes. He’d be a bit pat player with us.

Getting players isn’t only about what we want.

So we’re in for Johnson because hes
1.home grown
2.because Forest want 2 of ours
3.we scouted him 2 seasons ago.

I mean, he’s preferable to Anthony Gordon?

Or because
1. He’s really quick and we need more speed in the front line (Maddison threading balls in behind a fullback and Johnson absolutely skinning them would happen…a lot)
2. He is a natural right forward and he offers something totally different to Kulusevski
3. He’s really good already, still young and could be great being developed by Ange.

My concern with this deal is: (1) 50m is a hell of a number (2) it doesn’t sound like Ange is totally on board

I have no issues with the player as such - he’s good, but not amazing IMO - but if the manager isn’t sure then that’s just silly

I think we have to wait and see what the figure actually will be first. Leicester initially wanted over £50m for Maddison and he arrived for £40m.

Levy probably sees it is a win-win as we can get rid of some deadwoods while we get Johnson, however it is a financial perspective instead of football as usual(n)
Levy will see it even more a WIN Win situation if hr swaps 2 players for one as it's 2 wages of his bill.
All about the money for him.

Dont get the hate for the player. Looks promising and is still very young. However at the prices quoted I can't see it happening. Especially if it's a Levy deal as ITKs have suggest. I expect this one to fizzle out unless Forest significantly reduce the asking price. Would love to know who the other names on our list are.

People get so emotional and repetitive on here without knowing the full facts, it’s happened all window 🥱.

Ange himself has said expect some movement, he’s said there is a need to be flexible and fluid during a transfer window and that by the end of it he’s sure we will have the majority of what he wanted.

I get that Levy meddling in the past etc has screwed us but I trust this time that Ange will be very clear and realistic in what he wants and that all will be ok.
I mean both Trix and Herc have suggested that this would be more of a club signing and the opportunity to offload some deadwood in part of the deal makes this an attractive idea to the club. Supposedly both our head scout and Ange would prefer others so I think it’s understandable fan’s getting “emotional” by the prospect of ending up with another Spence or Danjuma. After all it would be Levy repeating the same mistakes again.

I may not be completely pro this signing but if the ITK suggested both our scouts and manager wanted him most then fair enough, I’d happily put my doubts to one side. But that seems to not be the case at all. Personally I’m sick to death of opportunistic recruitment, if that makes me “emotional and repetitive” then so be it.

Yes, we finally have a good manager who is a good coach and a good person. He'll do a great job - and this is going to be a fun ride. We all need to be a little more Ange about everything ourselves.
