He’s gonna be another player we’ve spent big money on that no one wants on a permanent deal, so we’ll have to loan him out until his contract expires. Truly an absolutely atrocious signing for the money and assets (Lamela) outlaid.

How many players actually fit your description above other than Ndombele who is a complete outlier when it comes to lack of professionalism?

We shouldn't have any problems selling Gil before his contract runs out.

What an awful one this turned out to be.

20m plus Lamela! Fuck me.

I like Gil, he clearly has talent, but it’s not gonna happen. Lamela was good for us too, we’ve missed him

Lamela was broken all of the time and couldn't stay in the PL - I say that as someone who really rates him.

What has happened that makes people think he is finished at spurs?

The fact he doesn’t make a single match day squad now, then next season he’ll be fighting for against solomun too, plus we want another winger. Zero chance gil stays

Let’s say we do what is being suggested by ITK and we sign Werner plus another top winger (probably a LW).. In that case he’s going to be behind Werner, Solomon and a new signing for LW off the bat. Then you’ve got the fact that if Richy is fit no sane manager would play Gil over Son at LW either. Same goes for him vs Johnson if Kulusevski is fit, Johnson would start at LW over him 100%. His chances of playing next season if all goes to plan in improving the squad are very limited. Would 100% be best for all parties if we can move him on permanently. He just isn’t up to our level in the PL and I personally doubt he ever will be.

Good point. I thought he was injured.

Apparently I have been imagining that he is injured. I must be going mad.

Son should be the first subbed off. To call his performance today a “stinker” would be an offence to all things with a bad odour.

Could be most beneficial here striking an accord with Feyenoord over Gil as there would be a few players in return that could do a job here (outside of the obvious in Gimenez) in Geertruida, Wieffer and (to a lesser extent now due to injury) Hartman.

Conversely think it would be a great move for Gil's career to reignite again under Slot.
