He just needs a goal early doors really, even if it's a deflection off arse - Soldado and Jansen especially saw their confidence levels fall week after week because they couldn't just buy a goal.

It will be hard as any striker really needs a run of 3 or 4 games run to get sharp and hit their stride - we see this every time Kane returns from an injury lay-off - and I do not think Vinicius will get a run of 3 or 4 consecutive games any time soon. Then the media will start piling on the whole "10 games without a goal" pressure, when they have mainly been 10, 8, 7, 15 minute cameo appearances.

I'd love to see us throw the kitchen sink at teams sometimes though, imagine the goals in this line up!

Lloris
Doherty Sanchez Dier Reguilon
Lo Celso Ndombele
Bale-----Kane-----Son
Vinicius
If Vinicius can dominate opponent Cbs and lay off balls to Kane / Bale / Son on the edge of the box it could be like shooting fish in a barrel!

Jose suggested a few weeks back he isn't interested in a "back up", but someone who can compete with Kane and play alongside him if necessary. Is Vinicius a striker who can play with Kane as well as instead of?

Well we've heard from multiple sources that Vinicius is José's number 1 target so if that's what he wants, you would have to assume that it's what Vinicius provides.

Kane can play with anyone. He'd probably enjoy someone else being the battering ram and him finding holes of space to kill them.

All of this is going to make the Weghorst announcement seem really strange. #WishingOnAWeghorst

If he joins us let’s give him a fucking chance yeah. Let’s not turn him into another Postiga, Soldado or Janssen and moan about him from day one when he doesn’t bang in a ten minute hat trick.

He’ll be coming from another league with only one season of high level goal scoring behind him. He’ll take time to get used to the league and won’t be playing regularly enough to build up a rhythm.
He’s an out and out striker. As far as I’m concerned that puts him up there with Jesus

With Vinicius being added to the wage bill , where is all the money coming from with the loss of income from non attendance, someone has to be leaving, has to be Dele to balance the books.
Guess it doesn’t really matter tbh (well to the club maybe), but the fans have been wanting this kind of activity for years, this is after all what will bring success in

I don't really know much about this guy and having a bit of a read up he has kind of popped up out of nowhere started off as a defender, then being used as a midfielder and an attacking mid to a striker in a very few short years. It's not normally what you get with strikers but i guess somebody spotted his potential a bit like bale who gradually just got more and more forward and improved incredibly with his shooting. What i do like from what i have read and seen is he has good pace but also a lot of strength and height obviously as he was a defender before. This certainly sounds like the kind of striker Mourinho likes to have in his squad.

Very true but strange it's happening with Spurs and the much derided Daniel Levy when many clubs are facing financial losses over the pandemic

So when would he have to sign by to be eligible to play against Utd, or has that deadline past?

The amount of games we're (hopefully) going to have, I'm not even sure that be could be described as a backup.

I think mourinho rates Kane dropping deeper so maybe Jose sees Vinicius offering the option of bring the target man on the shoulder with pace so Kane can drop deeper
