As a fan of my all time favourites Mackay and Roberts I would say that either one of these is worth ten Ginolas.
Time will tell about commitment and if Erricsen or Erriksen or however it is spelt is still here next season then I will concede until then we will wait and see.

Yep - you're wrong in both tries.

It's Eriksen.

I can even spell Toby Alderweireld.

The journey from direct free kick specialist when he arrived here to someone who hardly gets it over the wall is one of the most perplexing ever.

By all accounts he still works on them after training, Trippier said as much on Soccer AM the other week, so there’s really no logical explanation for it.

And yet we're the second most productive team from corners in the Premier League.

Yeah, I guess there been a mixed bag of him, Trippier and Lamela taking them this season.

It’s his direct freekicks that puzzle me so. Just seems like he’s lost all confidence of what he’s trying to do with them, which is strange because he seems to have such belief on his own ability.

He's in his 6th season with us, and he's scored 50+ goals in over 250 appearances, but you're going to wait and see if he's here for a 7th before you'll "concede"?

I'm done...

This is classic slagging off a player who may leave. We saw it for months with Toby last year and Kyle Walker before that.

Why is it that people who get angry at Eriksen not smashing around the pitch like Roy Keane are also usually unable to spell what is, on the face of it, one of our easier to write player names?

You clearly know how to use the internet, or else you wouldn’t be here. Ergo, you can quite easily google the name of a player who has been with ya for many years, that is IF you genuinely can’t spell it. My gut tells me that you probably can, but misspelling it is your way of mocking him, as if it somehow validates your ridiculous opinion. The irony of this, however, is that it totally invalidates your opinion, as it is impossible to take seriously someone who displays such pettiness and stupidity towards anybody, never mind someone who is clearly amongst the finest players in the league.

I do think his game has been a bit off for a while now. You see this in several little ways - often recently his first touch has (most surprisingly for him) not been a sure one, there have been some games where he's tried to force the play too much and made some bad passing choices, he's recently had the kicking ability of a toddler at times, and, most crucially for me, after initially taking on the additional workload/responsibility as part of the diamond midfield we have been playing he's started to become a lot less diligent in his defensive work. I don't think anyone expects him to win many 50/50 tackles, but at his best he often gets a toe in to disrupt things and does show a bit of tenacity, he will press, he will track back and get in behind the ball..... But in this facet, whatever any stats say, he's been a bit laboured in my opinion and it puts additional pressure on others in a midfield/defence that already looks a bit porous this season.

He's still our most important player though, and for years now has performed minor miracles effectively playing two or three roles for the team at once. But, like so many of our players in all truth, I want to see a little bit more from him in this end part of the season.

Bale was not afraid of a tackle ; Ginola apart from the Barnsley goal and the odd other goal was a waste of space as a team player I would have picked Sinton over him because his all round game was far more useful to the team as a whole at that time .
Hoddle did not shirk a tackle thats why the Liverpool players at that time used to kick him all the time.
It is amazing how the odd fantastic play seems to outweigh the player that every game gives 100%.
As for Ginola at the time he was playing a hell of a lot of goals conceded were down his side of the pitch whilst he would be waving his hands in the air blaming everyone else when he lost the ball Sinton would be tracking back to help the full back thus making us more sound .
Its a case of one mans ceiling is another mans floor and why can't you see its my opinion I am not stating fact.
I repeat Hoddle ; Bale ;were team players in my eyes Ginola played for Ginola in my eyes.
It is only an opinion as in Ericsen is to me a fantastic player when on it .
Far to often for me he is off the pace.
Some on here are like children with shiny toys when shown the Superstars like Ginola and are over impressed by the occasional goal the shine wears of when you get to the week in week out grit that is needed to succeed in the premiership.
If I have misspelt anything I apologise and I repeat it is just my opinion and the lovers of the super players are probably right I prefer to be pragmatic .

The real superstars like Messi and Ronaldo don't do much if any defensive work if any but weight of goals demand that they are must pick players much as in my early years watching my favourite player Jimmy Greaves he did not do defensive work but his 30 to 40 goals a season made him undropable.
Like I say its an opinion not a fact and your views may be the correct views or the most popular we are all allowed to differ.

On recent performances I would take Sissoko over Ericsen only my humble opinion.

So to answer my previous question, yes - you would prefer a team of cloggers. No offense intended to Sissoko but he's not even half the player Eriksen is and never will be. Of course Sissokos strengths lie elsewhere, like being blessed with a lethal combination of height, strength, pace and work rate.

You do also realise that Eriksen frequently comes top of distance run in matches? He may not be tearing around like Sandro used to but he's pretty vigilant at tracking back and actually wins possession more than people give him credit for. The way you're going on it's as if he's some fair weather player who doesn't want to get his hands dirty, that's just not true.

Oh and never disrespect Ginola, you'd have preferred Sinton? Unreal. You can say "it's my opinion" all day long but you've got to expect people to disagree and question your opinion on a football forum.

Eriksen is a quality player, but he isn't as irreplaceable as some make out. Modric and Bale are better than him and a level he will never reach, yet we haven't regressed since selling them.

Poch is the most important piece in our puzzle.
